  1. We have enjoyed being an active participant on several CC Roll Calls.  We have “met” fellow cruisers on these Boards, and have later really met them in person at the Cc Meet and Greet party.  It is a very useful tool to have.  We are cruising on the Disney Magic, sailing on February 22, 2019.  But I cannot find this particular sailing on the CCBoards.  How do I start this?

In November, we are going on a Nile River Cruise on a Uniworld ship.  I can’t even find any Uniworld cruises on Cruise Critic.  Is there some reason that Uniworld ships are not included on CC, or am II just missing the link to their cruises?

  3. My husband, Bob and I will be sailing with VRC for the second time this August. We will be on the Viking Beyla, cruising fromBerlin to Prague, and then by bus into Poland. It sounds like a wonderful trip and we are looking forward to it, although I am a little worried after reading several of the complaints about low water on the Elbe! Who else is going on this cruise? We loved our other Viking cruise to Romania!

  4. My husband and I just returned from a cruise on the Island Princess to the Panama Canal, among other places. Pluses: the food was very good, better than most of the other ships we have sailed on, and there have been many. We ate mostly in the formal dining room, for their "Anytime" services. But one of the biggest problems was, as people have mentioned, that Princess added a large number of passengers (we heard 100-140!), without expanding the public areas, such as the dining rooms! If we had known this, we wouuld have signed up for the "Traditional" dining, where the passengers can pick a definite time and have theirtables ready for them. There were times when we had to wait a half hour or more, to be seated, and then the service, while friendly and professional, was quite slow. We missed some shows because of this, which was distressing. Many passengers were upset by this, and I imagine the reviews will not be very good.

The other problem was the shower space. We had a balcony room on Deck 10, arranged by our agent, and while the room space was O.K. (not as large as some we've had, but adequate), the shower was tiny! We are relatively thin people, but I don't know how people who are either tall (my husband is about 6') or stocky could even fit in the shower! The bathroom space was also small, but at least there was enough room to move a little, but the shower was totally inadequate! Another bad review for that, I'm sure.

The cruise itself was nice, although several of the stops were way too short. For example, in Aruba, we went on a tour (ostrich farm etc. -- just O.K.), but we left around noon, I think, so we had absolutely no time to shop, which would have been fun. In general, if I had known all these things, I think we would have chosen a different line/ship. This was a partial trip through the canal, which was enough for me, and we did a tour to see Panama City and the Milleflores lock, which was interesting. The entertainment was also good.

We met some great people and had a very nice time with them. Bob and Adrienne, if you're reading this--thanks for everything! Great time!

  5. My husband and I sailed in the Viking Embla from Budapest to Bucharest, then took the extension through the Carpathian Mountains to Transylvania. We loved it! We were very impressed with Romania--beautiful! Everything was great about the cruise. We are certainly planning on cruising with Viking in the future. I would love to do the one through eastern Germany, and also through China.
