  1. HI Everyone,

I have a booking on Vision of the Seas on Nov 25th and looking at prices this morning I see that Guarantee Oceanview are way lower then what I have paid for an Oceanview..my questions is can I call and ask to have my reservation changed to Guarantee and will they credit my account (OBC) ?  locations does not matter to us so a Guarantee with OBC would be great.

    Thanks for your response. 😉

Then you should be able to do it. This is the email I got after inquiring on November 20.

Good afternoon.  Please disregard my email from last night.  The system just re-opened the upgrade packages for the Drinks On Us Promotion, and they are now available for purchase.  Therefore, the All-Inclusive “Classic” Drink Upgrade Package you wished to purchase last week is now available.  The cost is $252.00.  The cost to upgrade to the All-Inclusive “Deluxe” Package is $364.00.

Please call in to our contact center, and any of our agents can assist you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and please accept my apologies for the miscommunication from last evening.  Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday!

Let us know how it goes. I think the deadline is December 5 or 6.

Just tried...and no luck told me that the option was not available....it is getting ridiculous 😞

It's possible if you booked prior to November 12 and had the DOU package to upgrade to the Classic or Deluxe packages under the old pricing. If booked afterwards, you will have to upgrade to the new packages only. We were able to upgrade to Classic from DOU with no problem 2 days ago. It was probably the quickest call I've ever experienced with MSC. I hope this helps.

I do have DOU and cruise was booked in August...I will try back tomorrow... 😕

  4. Hi,

We too will be arriving in San Juan on the red eye from JFK on April 25 (Summit repo). My plan is to get our luggage and hop into a taxi to the Condado Plaza Hilton, the hotel has a Denny’s that is open 24hrs and a Starbuck’s. After getting early breakfast we could maybe take a look at the casino or grab a comfortable chair in the lobby to relax. We will then make our way to the pier by 10h30 – 11h00 and try to be in the first onboard so we can take a little needed nap. :)

  5. After considering pros and cons....I have made a little research and came with that alternative to get from Newark airport to JFK airport:

What about NYC airporter transfer from Newark to Grand central and then to JFK airport for $27.00 pp....is that a better solution? What will be the cost of traveling via public transport?...Air train, NJ tranist, LIRR, Air train? (off-peak)

    Thanks :)

  6. Hi to all :)

Husband and I will be cruising on the April 25, 2015 repo cruise from San Juan to Bayonne. We will be leaving our car at the Renaissance Hotel long term parking (any reviews?). Our flight is out of JFK on JB red eye flight to San Juan (I know it’s not the preferred airport for cruise arriving in Bayonne).

That being said I need your advice on our itinerary:

After leaving car at the hotel we will use their shuttle to get to Newark airport

    - Air train to Newark penn station (cost $12.50)

    - Take NJ transit train to New York penn station

    - Board A train to Howard beach – JFK airport station ($2.50)

    - Air train to JFK terminal 5 ($5.00)

Please let me know if I got this correct. Thanks for your advice …and no changing airport is not an option this time.

    :D

  7. Hi there

we are booked in US, I did manage to get the credit in Canadian on the website but it still hasn't been charged to my CC or shown up in my cruise planner.

If you are booked in US, you will be charged in US....even if you make the purchase on the Canadian website, OBC are being processed in the currency your reservation is....

CDN reservation paid in CND fund = OBC charged on credit card at $27.20 CAN

CDN reservation paid in US fund = OBC charged on credit at $25.00 USD, so Credit card company makes the conversion + the regular foreign fees

  8. You can't park at the port if there's no cruise departing that day. The lot won't be accessible, they'll be no one to collect the parking fee and there won't be any transportation to the airport.

Cape Liberty isn't near Newark Penn station.

You should either park at an airport parking lot or nearby off airport lot.

I see you're from Montreal. You have a long drive to EWR. If you can, drive down the day before and stay at a hotel that has a park/sleep/fly package. Try trinityreservations.com for booking a package.

When your ship arrives at Cape Liberty you can take a shared ride shuttle or taxi from the port to the hotel or lot where you're parked.

Thanks for the quick response....EWR long term parking it will be :)

  9. Hi Everyone....hope someone can help me out.....

we will be driving to newark from our house to catch our flight to San Juan (we will be on the repor cruise from San Juan to Bayonne, April 25th to May 3rd) and I was wondering was is the best thing to do about parking. I was thinking of parking at the EWR long term parking, we will then catch Bayonne cruise shuttle to EWR when disembarking the cruise. Or maybe we could park directly at the Liberty cruise pier to have our car ready to leave when we disembarked, only problem with that is, if we arrive on the 24 of April and leave our car at the Liberty cruise pier parking how can we go back to the airport…? Is the pier near the Newark penn station? Will there be cabs available, even do their will not be a cruise ship at port that day.

    Thanks a lot :)
