Is there sufficient seating in the terminal at check-in? Mrs. Schmoopie fractured her leg pretty badly a few months ago and is using a cane and has a hard time standing for too long. (This may be an "interesting" cruise with her limited mobility.) Just wondering when we should try to check in when we're on the Jade next month to avoid too much standing around.

The grand staff will be happy to take her up on an elevator and to get her a wheelchair and wheel her on to the ship.   I recently had my hip replaced and was on the Jade November 26th through December 24th on 2, 14th night back to backs and I just returned from 11 nights on the Jade for all three legs they wield me to my room made and barcation easy peasy.

food is definitely subjective.  being our first on NCL I was disappointed.  Expected more.  So if I can't get that in the MDR then are the speciality restaurants the way to go with NCL? Next NCL isn't until November, also in 3br Garden Villa.  Exceptional food is important to us on a cruise so am trying to learn how to make that happen on NCL.

I wish I could tell you that the specialty restaurants are the way to go but that very much depends on which ship, on the Jade even the specialty restaurants were hit and miss, I was at the Brazilian restaurant three times during my 28-day cruise last month, the first time was wonderful, great pieces of grilled lamb, filet mignon and wonderful ribs, The next two times it was more fat than lamb the filet mignon was tough and they kept pushing the chicken.

I was hearing a lot of complaints too from other Haven guests I'm not sure if it's just the Jade or if it's across the board as I was not staying in the Haven.

I’ve never had a bad meal in the MDR, you must have had bad luck or unreasonable expectations. I’ve got over 8 NCL cruises.

One man's ceiling is another man's floor. I was on the Jade from November 26th to December 24th last year and I would say the food was mediocre at best. I've been on 48 cruises over the last 10 years half of them on NCL and I've always felt the food on NCL was mediocre.

No my husband has a plebeian palate and he thinks the food is just fine.   I'm not so sure it says much as unrealistic expectations as the difference in palate some pallets are more sophisticated than others. Just my two cents.

If I can remember correctly, on previous cruises on the Gem (Jewel Class), since smoking areas have been cutback, the smoking was on deck 13, port side, at the Bali Hai bar, which overlooked deck 12 pool area.

This would mean on the Jade it's at The Pit Stop, deck 13 overlooking deck 12 pool area as well. Both are right outside of Spinnakers. Also, in the casino and Cigar Bar.

I was on the Jade from November 26th through December 24th, 2023. For the first two weeks you could smoke at the bar in the casino and for the second two weeks The casino bar was a non-smoking bar but you could smoke around the casino if you were playing. The entirety of the cruise the cigar bar was just for cigars not for cigarettes. The smoking area portside at the pit stop bar on deck 13 was always very congested with smokers.

Good morning from Port of Tampa,Florida and we are embarking on our first NCL cruise on the Jade. We have a beautiful suite in The Haven. I will provide daily updates and answer your questions as best I can.

Cruise ports are Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay. It’s a 5 night cruise.

Parking was easy. No long lines to get into the terminal. And check in has been very smooth.

Enjoy your adventure, I disembarked on Christmas Eve after 28th nights on the Jade.

    You'll have a wonderful time it's a great ship.

  6. Holy Canoli! I've been cruising for 4 years now and just reached Diamond, I Love RCCL and I am so happy to find this group that feels the same way!

I've traveled with My Husband w/friends and even done a few solo cruises. Hubby and I will be on the Vision of the Seas later this month, I'm so excited to be going on my first cruise as a Diamond, we have a grand suite so would get most perks anyway , I'll probably appreciate it even more when I have a the small balcony room on our 9 night and get all the perks!
