  1. Carnival allows one bottle of wine, 750 ml, per adult for U.S. departures (rules could be different in other countries) from your first port of departure...i.e. you sail from Miami so you are permitted one bottle to carry on. If you stop in other ports you cannot carry another on with you. (just trying to clarify) They do indeed often look at the bottle and they will not permit bottles of substance such as mudslinger or other alcohol mixed product that is packaged looking like a wine bottle. It does have to say wine on it. Corkage is only paid if you carry the bottle to the dining room. Glasses can be carried anywhere on the ship for consumption. You can carry the bottle to other locations as well, just not the main dining room.

  2. We save expired gas cards, gift cards, etc. for cruising to use in the safe. Since only one card can be used per stateroom we hide it in the front of the Bible that is usually in the drawer of the desk. If that doesn't work then try the flap of a book or in a beauty bag kept in the drawer.

  3. I wondered the same thing as we've sailed RCI many times and participated in the Quest but recently they did it on Carnival and I think it is their "In the Bag" game renamed since they said bring a bag full of stuff from your stateroom. Less nudity !

  4. Located mid-way between Akron/Canton and the Ohio Valley. Carrollton residents ready to sail the Grandeur in March 2006. I'm starting to pack!

jamiedego- we sailed Enchantment in the past; my very favorite ship, but we haven't since the re-do. Hope to sail on her in the near future. I worked for years in Stow.

mustangjoe- Anything you want me to check out on the Grandeur to prepare you for the fall?

  5. I noticed this question on another forum and thought it was wonderful. Who was your most memorable waiter and on what ship were they on?

Ours favorites have been: Goucker (Gocher ) from Turkey ( not sure of his spelling) and his assistant, Antonio from Jamaica. They were both on the Navigator of the Seas. We laughed until we were sick.

We also thoroughly enjoyed Antonia from India on the Voyager of the Seas. It took a little to get him going but then he was a hoot.

We also loved the professionalism and demeanor of Muhammed from India with assistant Hershey from Phillipines on the Soveriegn of the Seas and then Leanne from England on the Enchantment of the Seas. LeAnne was truly awesome. She suffered from severe allergies to seafood and still served us with a smile. Does anyone know if she is still out there?

    Who were your favorites?
