  1. Well' date=' technically it isn't "free." It is included with the many thousands of dollars you paid for the cruise. But it is a "use it or lose it" deal--you either take advantage of the fact that it is part of the cruise or you can't use it a month later. It is only good on that day.[/quote']

Oh yes, very true. But I will consider it a 'free' excursion because we don't have to pay additional money for it.

  2. I figured as much about Disney not doing anything to help. It is crazy, we are on a Disney cruise because we love Disney and they do this to us. But, I have seen enough I am really trying to talk my husband into Epcot and MK for the day. 6 fast passes, 3 of them for anything we want. How can you give that up, and basically a FREE day at Disneyworld. Besides the fact that I don't really feel up to going to Kennedy Space Center again.

    Oh what to do.

  3. Hi everyone,

On October 6, 2017 we will be sailing out of NYC for the first time. My question though involves the Port Canaveral stop. I want to do a Universal Excursion. Does Any company do these excursions? I know Disney doesn't so this would be my first time to branch out. I don't feel like spending another day at the Kennedy Space Center so husband said if I could find an excursion to Universal we could do that.

    Help please! And Thanks.

  4. We are flying into FLL airport the day before our cruise, and flying out of the same airport the day after we get off the ship.

We need a shuttle to take us from FLL to the hotel in the port of Miami and then a shuttle from POM to a hotel at the FLL airport.

I have checked Super Shuttle and they won't do this, so I am lost. Has anyone done this before? Any shuttle/limo suggestions?

    Thanks for your help!

  5. We noticed on our last cruise that the kids programs are closed while at Castaway Cay.

Because of this I was thinking my son, who will be 12 on our next cruise, might like to be with the tweens at the beach instead of with us. That also means that my husband and I can go to Serenity Bay instead of the family beach.

Can anyone tell me what the group from the Edge (the tweens) do on Castaway Cay?

    Thanks for your help.

  6. We heard there wasn't much to do in Nassau but I wanted to go to the Straw Market and my husband wanted a place with WiFi. So we started at Starbucks which had very poor Wifi. We finished our coffees and left.

Next we went to the Straw Market. Being indoor was nice. We enjoyed it there and made a few purchases. We next headed to the Hilton to check out their beach for future trips if we decided to pay for that experience. The pool and beach area were nice and we might consider that next time.

Finally we walked to the Junkanoo beach and checked it out. It wasn't very crowded but again, we didn't stay.

We did a lot considering we had planned on staying on the ship.

  7. We are on the December 11th Wonder Sailing and because we live in Colorado we must fly out the day before. Because of this we have a hotel at the port of Miami and will need a ride from Fort Lauderdale airport to the Holiday Inn Port of Miami.

For our return we need a ride from Port of Miami to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport.

I am currently checking prices with Larrys Limo (186.00 round trip for the 3 of us) and LS Limo- waiting for a quote from them. I did find out by checking with our Fort Lauderdale hotel that the cab price from POM to the hotel is about $100 for the 3 of us.

Are there shuttle companies that will take us from the Airport to a hotel, and from the port to a hotel? Who do you recommend?

  8. I have never sailed until our Dream cruise a few weeks ago. Since we started with Disney I don't know if we can "downgrade" onto another cruise line. I can say to help me ease the transition from the ship we did purchase our second cruise while still on the ship. Like OP our cruise isn't until next fall so we have a long wait.

  9. My son is 11 and we just got back two weeks ago from our first cruise. We had no idea what to expect. And took tours of the kids clubs after muster. We determined when we met a tween on her 9th cruise who showed us how to get to the Edge. He loved it from then on out. He was there any time he could be, and stayed until midnight when they closed. We are going on cruise 2 in October and he can't wait Togo to the Edge.

  10. We loved the Dream on our cruise that we have not even been off for a week yet. Each of us, a 50 year old, 47 year old and 11 year old loved this ship and everything on it. It was stunningly beautiful, the CM's were amazing, my son loved the Edge and we loved our alone time.

Now we have a cruise booked on the Wonder and my husband is really concerned he won't like it, and is thinking about changing back to just a 4 night on the Dream. I already know that the Wonder has the original Animators Palate - I am really looking forward to that. My son is happy because they have the Edge as well. I am excited about a smaller ship.

We have seen reports of wear and tear on the ship and in the staterooms. How prevalent is this? Should we be concerned?

What about the rest of the ship? I believe that since it is Disney, it will be as stunning to see the Wonder as it was to see the Dream. But now my husband even has me getting concerned.

Please tell me about your recent experiences on the Wonder and compare the Wonder to the Dream for me please.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

  11. I am looking forward to AP on the Wonder in October and hope it doesn't change between now and then.

On the Dream we found AP to be too loud and obnoxious. I did comment to the table that I really wanted one of the cm's shirts from Animator's Palate, but that is about all I liked there. We are all hoping for a more quiet and relaxed AP on the Wonder.

  12. We just got back from a Dream cruise, our first cruise ever. As Disney nuts there was no choice for us but a Disney cruise. This cruise lived up to all my lofty expectations.

We have an 11 year old son, who enjoyed being in the edge so much that we had a lot of time alone. As adults we had a blast on the ship. Either watching movies, playing bingo, sitting on deck enjoying a drink and the view and finishing a relaxing dinner without our child to influence us. It was great for both adults and children.

Since we enjoyed our 3 night cruise so much we booked our next cruise while on the ship. This time we are doing a 5 night cruise.

I highly recommend the Disney Cruise Line and don't really see anything they can improve on, but I don't have another cruise line for comparison, so that could affect my judgement.
