  1. Thanks so much for sharing your vacation with us. It has helped me get my "cruise Fix" as I don't have any sailings booked in the near future.

I wanted to tell you that the thread that you did while on the Freedom was so compelling. That is when I first started following you. You have a very nice writing style and I like the way you view life.

After sailing 2 of the big ships, my husband and I have decided too that they are not for us. The radiance class is a perfect size for us and such beautiful ships.

    Safe travels home tomorrow!

I think you would enjoy following along Trainman outside of cruise reviews on his daily life in the country blog! I have been a reader for 3 years now!

  2. The stops are in this order, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Grenada.

My grandparents first cruise is extremely close, Nov. 14. They will be going with my parents. My grandfather can not walk extreme distances and I want him to enjoy some of the ports. He is not in a wheel chair. Any locations that are must-see but also not a problem with walking distances? He doesnt mind getting in a cab but at 75 he isnt exactly wanting to be in one for an hour. Any help is gladly appreciated.

  3. I checked your schedule. No other ships in port with you at St. Thomas, St. Croix, Grenada. St Lucia does not park ships side by side. The Only port with ships next to you is Antigua. Should be a nice trip. We sail Adventure in a few weeks !!! No other ships in port at all for us!!!!

WOW! YOU ARE AWESOME! This forum never ceases to amaze me. You guys take the time to help someone you may never meet! I am so excited for them. It was a last minute decision but we were very lucky that the hump balconies were still available. I am positive they will have a great time!

  4. My grandparents who are 75 and 73 are going on their first cruise with my parents November 14th out of San Juan. The stops are in this order, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Grenada. We have booked 6616 and 6622 (hump balconies port side). I know that ships don't always port on the port side but does any one have some insight on if you will get good views of the islands with these rooms from their balcony or will it mainly be views directly into a neighboring ship. Also any other tips for the trip would be great. Considering their age they may never go on another one and I want it to be a fantastic memory for them.

  5. Thanks so much for sharing Trainman. I originally joined the thread just looking for another Live thread. Little did I know that I was getting ready to becoming engrossed in not only this live thread but your daily life on the farm thread as well. Cruise Critic members have been nothing but great towards me but seeing the amount of respect they have for you makes me a huge fan. Thanks for sharing your stories with us. Enjoy your trip. I miss the Allure already!

Ps. Those ladies look lovely in their matching dresses!

  6. I can't see the photo too clearly' date=' but it vaguely looks like one of the lead singers in the production cast. If so, she was fantastic!

Wow, it's scary how similar our experiences were on the same tour. We didn't have issues with the tender boats, but everything else could have described our tour. In my conversation with Jenny, she emphasized how NCL recognizes the port time is too short and they are working to get it extended, but the logistics of including it on a cruise out of nyc is challenging.

Sorry I uploaded a photo from my phone... Didn't realize even using the "best" upload that it is still so blurry. I'm glad to hear that she was awesome! One of my high school best friends!

  7. Whenever you can disembark.. Do it!! The past two times I've been to Labadee I have made a point to be one of the first off of the ship. I head straight for Adrenaline Beach to get my umbrella. (Not really an umbrella, I can't come up with what it is exactly but it's more like a half moon canopy.) they are free, essentially but I generally tip well because of how awesome of a deal it is to have that umbrella all day.
