  1. After getting up at ~ 6 AM to be at a UK Airport on time, ~9 hours Flying to Barbados, 45 min bus journey,1/2 hr in the shed to get on board, Muster at ~ 10 PM UK time and first sitting at 11:30 PM UK Time, a lot of people don't actually make dinner for the first evening.

It would make perfect sense to me not to get your regular table on your first night.

Try checkin at 07.15 for a 10.35 flight, end up with a 10 hour delay at Manchester fly into a headwind therefore 10 hr flight evetually end up on ship at 3 in the morning local time or 7am UK time!

  2. For anyone who is already on board and wondering why the ship is delayed. we are still waiting at Manchester airport. Should have flown at 10:35 this morning now we are told that tge flight isnt untl 20:00hrs !!!'

  3. We fly on Saturday to join Azura, after packing last night both cases were bang on the limit. I rang Thomson flight extras at lunchtime today and booked 5kg each extra luggage allowance, just used my P&O reference no and they emailed me confirmation straight away.

  4. 23kg is possible, even with the three dress codes - I've done it quite a few times. We are doing a back to back this time which means I'm packing for four weeks on board - still with only 23 kg! Needless to say things will be worn more than once!

Yes we generally make use of the laundry facilities and re-use clothing. Met some lovely people while ironing my shirts :)

  5. We are off to Barbados joining Azura in 9 days time so have that to look forward to first. P&O do have wine packages that you can buy, but I know what you mean an upgrade to completely all inclusive would be good. I've given up checking every day and just know that I'll have a 6 -700 pound bill to pay at the end of a 2 week cruise, once you've resigned yourself to that its no problem. :)

  6. Heard from friends of ours they spent 2hrs drifting without power at breakfast time on Sunday morning, then recieved a text last night saying that they couldnt dock in St Vincent and that the crew were dealing with a fire in one of the cabins.

Hope theydont break the ship we are due on board on 8th Feb !!

  7. People have to be happy with what they get for what they pay. I have booked a cruise well in advance and been able to guarantee the dining option I wanted and get the cabin choice. It suited me to do that even though I knew that there would be some who get a getaway fare far cheaper ...... good luck to them. I have also cruised on a getaway basis. The problem occurs when crass people feel the need to brag to all and sundry how cheap they managed to get their cruise for.
