  1. A long time ago, 4 cruises, I walked to the secluded beach, past the horizon, over the far rocks , I wonder if it is still in use, or is this where the horses forlic in ocean now.

At the time there were no horse back rides!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

  2. High tea every day in the dining room. One special "staffer" tea party with special desserts and tea hosted by the Thai dining staff. This tea was obviously special to them, and they all wore colorful silks and urged the guests to try the different spiced teas and snacks (though the regular stuff was also available) and taught us a few words in their native language. (HAL)

Mostly like the HAL staff were Indonesian, the Dutch connection

and they would have been wearing Sorongs, not Silks

  3. The Lanai Cabins on Maasdam that you describe are Numbers CA332 through CA374 on port side and CA 333 through CA371 on starboard.

Your CA351, CA353 or CA355 is a Lanai cabin and during the day, the glass is shielded so people cannot see in if your lights are off.

Wow, does the same go for 358, 360, 368

I will meet everyone at the Meet and Greet 10am on Saturday

  4. I will be on a stern wake cabin,

curious does rock up & down more in heavy seas?

is it soothing , have vibrations?

I will do cabin review upon return

until May 2014 classed as D". after may 2014 class "E" room

  5. Naughty: Passengers (not always kids & teens) changing the signs on the cabin door from "Do Not Disturb" to "Clean Now" and changing the breakfast order to be prune juice at 5 AM.

four days into cruise, cabin staff / kitchen noticed a marked increase in similar changes, to breakfast orders and very early orders

They assumed "funny business" so they called two "victims" (my self and cabin down the hall ) to inquire if this was an error, (cabin fellow knew I was often on line in Explorer lounge (HAL) between 4am and 5am, (European clients) and visited me , with my breakfast order, not prune juice but close enough, they then and clarified, my 4:30 wake-up and breakfast

They cancelled the other 7 in the hall, but left a note and a small breakfast. for guests

Following day, supposedly security had video taped our hall, and found out the "comic", Staff did ot tell us who the comic was, but reportedly cabin staff learned and played their own humour on that cabin.

I found out as i speak some indonesian, and overheard the staff speaking about it.

they short sheeted the bed, and two other harmless pranks, I asked about repercussions, and they said, their bosses were in on it teaching them the technique.

Also cabin paxs giving an extra inspection when reboarding from excursion

  6. I realized a while ago, Front Desk does best, when you are polite, and reasonable, I try to focus on the positive, My only upsetting events occurred two , with shore excursions

One unpleasant Grand Turk, (tour to the beach, 2 Kilometres from ship) followed by partaking on an excursion, where they left me behind, 20 kilometres from the ship.

They simply did a head count, but another passenger, from a different tour took my seat,

I got back to the ship, via a different tour operator, (for a different HAL ship), a little later and frazzled nerves.

Shore Excursions refunded 100% of 2nd, and comped me in the Pinnacle

  7. if you get off at Samana I walked up to the grand Hotel, enjoyed the Hotel

you can also walk to the same beach A long bridge, is a great walk, and there is mountain goat walk, for those with agility.

    walked down to water level

    and swam,

Note I lived in 3rd world, and was there in 2010, worth getting off for a stroll, but I am adventurous
