Hi didn't look like anyone answered you...I did the opposite, went from a 7 night to 8 night, similar itinerary but different (newer) ship. I will pay a small amount for the extra night which I thought was fair, it's not the full cost of an extra night if you do the math. So I can't imagine you would have a problem going to one with one less night.

LOL no one answered me so thank you! That is good to hear that they are allowing some leeway, thanks for the info 😃

  2. Quick lift and shift question - I  know it says that the new cruise must be same itinerary, destination, and number of days but.... I'm booked on Anthem 11/29/20 -the  only Bahamas cruise I see within four weeks of that date is all the same, except it is 7 days instead of 8. Has anyone had this issue with lift and switch or can it be done because the number of days is less? I booked though big box travel agent and everytime I call I'm on hold forever, or the new one is, someone takes my information and promises a call back that never comes. Has happened twice to me twice so far with  this TA. (not sure if I am allowed to say the name of the website)

  3. Just wanted to throw in my Royal up Info  if anyone is wondering about timing.

Cruise is 8/31/19 and I originally had a panoramic ocean view (the small one). Received the  royalup invitation via email on 7/25. Sent my bid  on August 2, $300 for a balcony which was the lowest bid.  Received confirmation on 8/8 and the new room number was assigned in that email. I was under the impression this happened much closer to the sail date, so just FYI my experience

  4. Since we are talking about dining packages, I have a question I haven't found answered yet. So when dining at Chops (or any other specialty restaurant) if I order the extra lobster or seafood tower, does that come in addition to an entrée I ordered? Or is that considered my entrée? Since its extra $, I am assuming its in addition to my entrée, but with the way Royal is cutting costs and changing policies daily, just wanted to be sure.

  5. Looking for suggestions for transportation of about 15 people from Reading, Pa. to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Cruising on the Norwegian Breakaway Nov. 26-Dec. 3 2017

I'm not sure how far out of your way this would be, but I highly recommend Yankee Trails in the Albany area. For $90 a person, you can park your car in their lot (at no extra charge) and hop on their bus that will drop you off right at the pier. Same thing for pick up - saves a lot of hassle driving into Manhattan

  6. Don't worry! I'm on the same cruise and they switched my room just yesterday - within minutes my new room assignment was shown on the cruise personalizer page boarding passes & luggage tags with new room number were ready to be printed! They definitely overbooked this cruise (and are still scrambling to change rooms around it seems)

  7. Thanks everyone for excellent info, tips & warm wishes! To answer a couple questions, I booked direct through princess website, I live in Syracuse, so I do drive to the pier in NYC, and they are giving me the $2000 as a straight onboard credit, not in addition to anything so I do have to be careful not to go wild and blow it all- thanks for the link Theo and I'll be sure to send some pics of the obstructed view balcony when I return. Again, thanks to everyone who replied

  8. So I'm booked on my first Princess cruise ever, Regal out of NYC 10/22 Canada, with a mini-suite L206. Princess called me today and said if I change to room E329, they will refund my entire fare paid. I'm like what's the catch? She told me slightly smaller room that is not a mini suite but has an obstructed view. I said OK sounds great sign me up. I feel like I won the lottery, however now that the adrenaline has worn off, I'm questioning if I made the right decision, has this happened to anyone else? They gave me a shipboard credit of my fare (about 2000) they said what we dont use will be sent to us 4 to 10 weeks after the cruise. Will I ever see this check?

  9. Hubby and I will be in OS Liberty of the seas in a couple weeks. We will not be using the main dining room at any time (just not our thing). We will have dinners from the main dining room menu delivered nightly instead. My question is should I leave the automatic gratuities the way the cruise line sets it up (I will also be tipping the delivery person cash each evening) or should I stop by guest services and have them reallocated ( if so, how?)Thank you!

  10. Hi everybody,

Just got back from our 10 day cruise Explorer of the Seas 12/2/13 to 12/12/13, had a great time! Anyway, we stayed in a grand suite, and I have saved every days cruise compass, in addition, I have all the dinner room service menus also. In fact we never stepped foot in the main dining room, ordered dinner delivered nightly to our room. If anyone would like them, please pm me your name and address I will mail them to you (don't have a scanner) preferably someone who would be willing to post or share if more than one person wants a copy - great food although you can only order if the dining room was open, any other time we had to order off the regular room service menu (not so great)
