  1. We did the tea 3 times on our cruise on the Viking Star. Was the Bergen to Stockholm cruise. We never had a problem getting a seat. The tea, scones, finger sandwiches, and desserts were lovely. Can't wait to try it again in a few weeks! Hubby and I decided it was so nice, we'd do it more this cruise.

  2. We have done one river cruise and one ocean cruise with Viking. We are taking the ocean cruise from Bergen to Montreal on the 22nd of this month. We preferred the river cruise. Same as what most have said. The intimacy. Only downside, no food at all after dinner. So if you decided to have a few drinks after dinner, there was no food to soak it up. I'm not sure if they fixed that problem. I think the river cruise was 4 years ago. When we took that cruise, there was no Viking Ocean Cruses, but we were told it was coming.

  3. We are thinking of taking this cruise in 2019. What are the main differences between the routes? I suspect there may be a port or two with significant differences one direction versus the other, but can't tell from what I've read on Viking's website.

We did this cruise two years ago on the Viking Star from Bergen to Stockholm. Loved it.

In Copenhagen, we did a Jazz cruise offered by Viking. Think it was around $35 each. We got picked up at the Viking boat by the Jazz boat! Nice treat. Then we were served cheap fizz throughout the cruise. Hubby and I loved it. Was a highlight of our cruise.

In Stockholm we got a hotel for the night after the cruise. Going to the ABBA museum was a highlight. Hubby is not a fan of them, but was glad he saw it. At our hotel, we ordered swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes. So glad we got to try that meal in it's home country and with authenticity. Delicious.

Enjoy your cruise! We loved it, and have made life long friends.
