  1. Well you wouldn't think people take trivia so seriously but there are some frequent cruisers that have been known to keep their answer sheets. I think the staff have caught on though and vary their questions rather than use the corporate office ones. There are some smart phone offenders and others that want to win so bad that they have extra people sit in etc.

  2. Hello we were on the grandeur in November, is 8062. My husband called rcl prior and asked about a lounger and was told although none were standard, you may ask your steward to get one. No problem we had one shortly after asking. We only asked for one -- I prefer to lounge in the solarium anyway. There was a coffee maker and the coffee ring packets and the coffee was stale. There is also a tea maker but I ended up using the coffee pot to make tea as it was faster. This was our first junior suite and the price was right and not sure if we will ever be able to repeat it. Looking right now at the March sailing to Bahamas again on the grandeur.

  3. If you are fluent in Spanish or German you will find something to watch. I just did the nov 1 sailing and I don't recall it being so sparse in previous cruises. Sometimes you need some downtime and I would have liked an hour or so yo veg out.

  4. I have an 8yr old autistic grandson (very high functioning) that has the same sensory issues. We hope to take him on a future cruise. But - I can suggest Good Hope Estate - Chukka tours. My husband and I did this in November 2013 and the tour bus, driver and staff are excellent and sensitive to those with disabilities. Nice new clear airconditioned bus - not too large. It's not a long drive - the estate has many activities - tubing, rafting, horseback riding, zipline etc and wasn't crowded at all - of course, it was November!

  5. Last cruise -- took a few by Elmore Leonard -- great characters, easy reads and very entertaining. Recommend his short story collections and if you've watched the TV series Justified you'll enjoy even more. The other I took was David Sedaris - will not be to everyone's taste but it made me laugh out loud. Other good vacation reads for me would be a John Grisham - recommend the Litigators.

  6. We were on the Grandeur in November (One Platinum and One gold) and we were supplied with 2 terry cloth robes without asking. Would prefer the waffle type myself but be warned that if you soil one and it's sent to the laundry you will likely not receive a replacement.

  7. I found the Elemis products on Amazon and other sites and in some cases 40-50% less! I also had a manicure on our recent GOS (pricey in comparison to land) but it was one of the best I've ever had. I didn't do the facial on that trip (my budget is one treat per cruise) but had one on the EOS and it was also very very good.

  8. Been on both and agree that EOS is the one for kids! On another note, I was looking at reviews and thought I saw an enclosed Solarium. I last sailed on EOS in 2008 and it was open so I was surprised to see it closed. Will need to look around to see where I noted this - I hope it has but all the experienced cruisers will likely know!

  9. Thinking about booking this one -- we are on the Grandeur sailing from Baltimore on Nov 16th. Does anyone know how far from port? The description doesn't offer much information about the starting point for the tour. It leaves at 8:30 AM and is 3 hrs 45 min - but doesn't indicate if that includes travel time (or mode) to the site? Anyone know?
