Just wondering if anyone had hired a vehicle for the day rather than relying on expensive tours? Thinking of driving ourselves to Hobbitown/Rotarua while in port. We are Aussies so no problem driving on the left, etc.

Anybody have any first hand information on some good hotels in Sydney Australia to stay at either before of or after a cruise?
Thank you:D
We stayed at The York last cruise (family of 5) and are cruising again to NZ in January and have booked there again. We loved it being easy walking distance to Circular Quay and everything else at the rocks.

We stayed there on our last cruise and walked no problem. We are Mum & Dad 50ish with 3 teenage kids. We have booked the York again for our next cruise in January 2019. Loved it.

If you wait until the casino opens, they will punch your card AND give you an elastic lanyard too.
Thanks for the tip!!
-
They will do this on any Princess ship. Either at the passenger services desk or in the gift shop.
Thanks Keith. We've been on two HAL cruisers before and hasn't been a problem. Just wanted to make sure. Cheers.

I was just wondering if anyone that has been on the Golden Princess recently could confirm that you can get a hole punched in your ship card so you can attach a lanyard.
Just need to know whether to bring one with a plastic sleeve if you can't.
We are sailing next week from Sydney. Can't wait!!!
Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the responses. It's fantastic we can find answers to these simple questions in this forum! Love it!:D

Which ship are you cruising on Brissy Rookie Cruiser?
Leigh
Our extended family are cruising on the Golden Princess on 21st September. We aren't flying back to Brissy until 3pm, so we just wanted to spend the morning in Sydney city rather than at the airport. :D Thanks.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can suggest what to do with our luggage in Sydney for 3 or 4 hours after disembarkation from our cruise in September? We would rather spend some time in the city rather than hanging around the airport! Cheers.

Thanks to everyone for their responses. Certainly answered my query. It was as I expected! I am so looking forward to this cruise. New line for me, so very exciting after being on HAL for two cruises.

My family have been on two cruises with HAL and are now going on a south pacific cruise on the Golden Princess in September.
On HAL we had no problem getting our water bottles filled with water at the Lido buffet. Can anyone confirm that we can refill our water bottles at either water bubblers or maybe at the casual dining room?
Thanks.

Thanks very much for all the responses. CC is fantastic! Love it. We have three interior cabins in the forward section on the Dolphin Deck. Now I have an idea of what will be next to us!!!

Myself and my extended family are going on a South Pacific cruise next September on the Golden Princess and looking at the dolphin deck plan, there seems to be a void in the interior forward section. I was hoping that someone may be able to enlighten us on what is actually in that void? Storage or crew cabins maybe? Curious to know. Thanks. :)

Thanks very much. That will save some packing space!

I was wondering if someone who has sailed on the Golden Princess lately can tell me whether they allow ship towels to be taken ashore?
My family and I are going on a pacific cruise in September next year. We have done two cruises with HAL who have allowed towels ashore therefore we didn't have to pack our own.
Thanks.

Thanks for that . HAL had no washing facilities, so it looks like I will be on washing duty! Any good tips for the cruise?

I was hoping for someone to enlighten me.
Myself and my family have been on two previous cruises with Holland America. They were fantastic. Loved them.
This time we are on an 11 day cruise on board the Golden Princess departing Sydney in September 2017.
On HAL we were able to purchase an unlimited laundry package for around $100 US. Excellent service and value for a family of five.
Does the Golden Princess have a similar package or is only pay by the bag?
Thanks.
-
Much appreciated.

My family and I are cruising on the HAL MS Noordam on 2nd January 2016 and were wondering what laundry packages are available? We have heard it's per person or is it per cabin? Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the help with this. Did anyone drive to Hobbitown or Rotarua? Any tips or tricky things to watch out for? Thanks again.
