  1. Hi everyone! I am looking for some feedback on what to do in Nassau. I would love a relaxing day on a beach with a book and a drink while my husband wants to explore. I have been researching and am honestly more confused then when I started. We will be there on the Victory at the end of October. Any ideas would be very welcomed!

  2. Would you recommend the BCH? My husband and I are thinking of going there in October.

    First Port - Nassau, Bahamas

We didn't have a ton of time here. Arrival was around 7:30 am and departure was 2:30 pm. I believe we had to be back on board at 2pm.

We also didn't rush to get off the ship. I think we got off a little after 9 or so. The lineup for the breakfast buffet was huge so we opted for the dining room. There was a lot of selection, the food was pretty much the same as in the buffet except you could get corned beef hash (very good) and some better toppings for your waffles/pancakes. I still don't like the scrambled eggs in either place :D

Our plan for the day was a day pass at the British Colonial Hilton. We booked in advance here and put down a 20% deposit.

The day pass was $60 pp which included use of the beach, chairs, towel, umbrellas, pool and facilities. It also came with $40 in vouchers for food or drinks.

The hotel was within walking distance of the ship which was very convenient. It is a small, sandy beach, small pool and a quiet area. The property was very nice and clean although the chairs were falling apart a bit. Some had a hood that you could use to block the sun but a number of them were not working.

I had read on a post there was wifi here and assumed that meant it was free. It was not.

We didn't end up eating although the food prices were reasonable. Drinks were not cheap but not outrageous either. I had a virgin pina colada that was awesome. My husband tried a few mixed drinks, some were good, some were not. With such a short time we didn't spend all the money so he got 3 beer to go.

The day pass here is a great if you are looking for a quiet beach, it is not a party atmosphere. I also liked how close it was to the ship. But its certainly not for everyone.

We wandered back to the ship. It wasn't my favourite stop. We were approached a lot to buy things like knock off bags, sunglasses and watches but just said no thanks and kept walking.

  3. I am more shy and reserved then my husband so I am guessing if anyone tries to sit on our cabana or use it my husband will tell them that it is ok for a fee. ;)

I figured we would just take turns going to grab our lunch as I want to eat in my cabana rather then the bbq area anyways.

  4. Good evening everyone! My husband and I booked a cabana for our stop at Half Moon Cat and I was wondering if as a perk you get to go on the first tender ship? Also anyone who has stayed in a cabana did you have any issues with people invading your space? Thanks in advance:o

  5. Thank you everyone! I actually have been feeling sick to my stomach over it. We used to live with in driving distance of a Long Beach in California so we didn't book flights for our last cruise and were thinking more about having to take an extra day off of work. I feel so much better about coming in the evening before. Now I can just get in have a nice dinner grab some last minute stuff then all I have to worry about day of is getting on the ship!

  6. Thank you everyone! We called the airline this morning and asked to switch to the day before. They were going to charge us $200 each to switch the tickets but we asked for the fee to be waived. She talked to her supervisor and they waived the fee! I feel so much better and am so excited to cruise :D

  7. Hi there! My husband and I are cruising in October out of Miami. We booked same dAY flights (I know, I know). The more I think about it the more stressed I get. Of course they are non refundable/no change tickets. We arrive at 12:45 and the cruise is departing at 4. Does anyone have any stories to make me feel better about this? Happened to you and you made the cruise ok. Thanks in advance!
