Thank you for these views of the aft Vista Suite. We are booked on the new Rotterdam next August in the exact same room number.Looks very nice. We're doing a 14 day Norway,Iceland, and Scotland trip, and thought it would be nice to have a little better view from the aft area. First time we've booked an aft room.

  2. Good morning. Well, since our much anticipated cruise and land trip to Alaska was cancelled for this month,we had booked a cruise for August next year on the Ryndam. Then Covid 19 happened.  I thought better of it,and discussed it with hub,and we decided flying may not be a good idea yet next year. So I rebooked our trip for a 2 week east west Caribbean on the Nieu Amsterdam with the Have it all perks, and got a Signature Suite on 6th floor midship. We're doing this for our anniversary in January. I've been reading about all the possible new things that may be taking place, and we'll be fine with it..We already live in Florida, and will enjoy all the nice weather.

  3. Originally booked a 14 day cruise on  the new ship Ryndam after our much anticipated Alaska cruise got cancelled due to me having a foot injury. Then Covid happened. It had 2 days in Norway, 3 or 4 days in Iceland, and 3 in Scotland. Then with all this happening  I really wasn't sure we should fly even though the trip wasn't until August,2021.. So I played it safe, and booked an e/w Caribbean cruise for late January to celebrate our 47th anniversary instead. All the perks that are offered plus the 10% discount, and the extra 250$made it worth it. I booked us a Signature Suite on the Nieu Amsterdam. This is our 3rd time sailing on HAL,and we really love it.

  4. I received an email from my HAL TA a couple of days ago,and didn't want to say anything because it wasn't on the website yet,but it just appeared. Booked for late summer on the new ship Ryndam.

  5. We had an Alaska land and sea cruise booked for May,and cancelled it last month because we didn't think this covid thing would be over yet,Plus,I had foot surgery in March. We were really looking forward to it too.

We did the reverse trip along with Dawson City this past June and it was amazing.  You will get into the swing of things quickly with the keys, luggage times, etc.  On a few stops, the luggage had to be out pretty early so make sure you have carry on bags that can hold your toiletries and PJs among other things you may need in the morning.  The train between Anchorage and Denali was amazing!  Agree on the train lunch-a must do.  Have some great pics of the mountains closer to Denali in my phone's black and white mode (Noir mode) that just turned out beautiful given there was still significant snow on many of the mountains...just from my iphone. The resort at Denali was nice-we ended up with a balcony overlooking the river in the back which was just so peaceful we could have stayed several more nights given the chance.  Most folks sat near the front of the bus, but we sat near the back and had room to stretch out a bit.  Enjoy!!

Thank you so much for this! sounds wonderful!

  8. Crew News, first of all, thank you for the wonderfully descriptive details you have given us. I just read this to my hub,and we both understand it so much better than the link. I always like to know before I go. Hub can get frustrated, and if I know ahead,it makes it that much easier for him to enjoy with me. When looking at each stop,I had noticed Anchorage and Fairbanks had times of the year where the northern lights could be seen. Was this possible when you went, and is there anyone outside the ship that offers it?

I'd also like to say how much we enjoyed your beautiful photos. I had a great Nikon digital that gave me beautiful shots for years, and the start button died on me on March in the Carribean. So I have a new Sony digital that I have to play with before I go. Thank you so very much for taking the time to help us.

  9. Crew News, thank you for you help.We begin our boat trip in Vancouver, travel to Ketchikan,Juneau, and SkagwayGlacier Bay,then at sea, we then arrive in Anchorage on Sunday. On Monday, its Anchorage,Talkeetna, then Denali,I'm assuming this is by rail. We have two days in Denali, then travel to Fairbanks where were are for a day, then fly out the next day from Fairbanks.I do knoww we'll be traveling on the McKinley explorer to get to Denali. We also do a tundra tour in Denali. In Skagway pat of the package offered is a trip on the White Pass Railway. All of this is being done in mid to end of May of 2020. I'm assuming we can each take one large suitcase and then a carry on for the land trip?

  10. Years back we took a 7 day on Disney to Alaska. Hub always wanted to go again, and I found a great deal for next year. I do have a question for those that have already done this.Since we have to figure our baggage, how does the baggage transfer for the land portion work since we'll be in 3 different hotels in a 4 days space.? Do we have to carry our baggge to each hotel? Thanks for any help and advice!
