  1. Was it a free upgrade, or an up sale? If it was a free upgrade, you are very lucky, especially with the booking being a guarantee! Congratulations!:)

It was free...when I logged on the other day it finally showed a room for us other than just GS guarantee...needless to say, we were beyond excited! It is our first cruise 😊

  2. Hi everyone...I am new here, just getting ready for our first cruise on February 20! We booked a grand suite guarantee & I have been checking to see where our cabin would be....imagine our surprise when last night we finally have cabin assignment.....a 2 bedroom suite!! 7672...an art suite right above a couple lounges. I will not complain for one minute, but am wondering if we will hear a lot of noise at night time from there?

    Thanks,

    Andrea

  3. Hi,

We have never cruised before, & are considering booking our first with Autism on the Seas to make it easier for our 4 year old son with autism.

Our main concern is how autistic children do with the crowds & noise. Our son recently started preschool, & says it's "too busy" & hard work to be there. I am wondering if there are enough quiet areas to retreat to on a ship, or will we end up spending most of our time in our room? I see all the positive reviews of AotS & hope it would be the same for us, but am hesitant.

  4. Earthchild.....what made ou choose Carnival over the other lines, if you don't mind me asking? I am still wondering if I should be looking at the Epic because of the 2 br suite & the space it would give us, or a smaller Carnival ship.

I did look at the Autism on the Seas website & it looks really good! I want to make sure I've fully committed to my ship before I contact them though ;)

Good luck with your cruise, I hope your son has a wonderful time :)

  5. Hi,

Our son was recently diagnosed wit asd, & I am wondering which cruise line might be better for meeting his needs. He gets overwhelmed by too much noise & thingslime that. I have already booked on the Allure for Jan. 4th, but am wondering if maybe it might be too many people...too much stuff, etc. I originally thought he'd like to watch the carousel & look at the trees in Central Park. We have an owner's suite booked, so we'll be planning on spending tine in the room to wind down if we need to.

I was also looking at the Epic...I can get a 2 br suite for a lot less, or the Disney Magic I can even get a 1 br for less.....too many choices!

And it's a surprise for my husband, so I can't ask him!

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.....oh...this will be our first cruise :)

  6. Thank you all for your thoughts! I picked the Jewel because of the 2 br suite being the most reasonably priced :)

I am second guessing 15 days for our first time, even though I know it would probably be amazing. I don't want to over do it & spoil the experience & not want to go again, so am leaning to doing a 7 day for our first one....plus, I really like the idea of the space of a suite so our little guy can have his own room to sleep & we can have our "space" :)

    Thanks everyone! :)

  7. Hi there :)

I am trying to decide between 2 cruises for our first cruise next Christmas. We're in our early 40's & will be taking our youngest who will have just turned 3.

The two I'm deciding between are a 7 day Caribbean on the NCL Jewel in a haven 2 br family villa, & a 15 day Hawaiian on the Caribbean Princess in a mini suite. The prices are close, about $1000 more for the Hawaiian one.

My questions/concerns are....is it silly to think we should try 15 days for our first time cruising, & with a very busy 3 yr old boy?? We've always wanted to go to Hawaii though, so that would be amazing. I don't know much about that ship though, as far as activities and such for a toddler. The Jewel would be shorter, and we'd have more cabin space, & I'm guessing more for the little guy to do?

But then I think that for the same price basically we could go for twice as long to somewhere we've always wanted to.....decisions decisions!

Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions to share with a rookie to this?

    Thanks so much :)

    Andrea
