  1. We did the Elegance catamaran last Feb. It was the best excursion of our cruise. We were pampered by their attentive crew. The food was delicious and non stop as well as beverages. We were sorry to leave as each crew member shared their lives and made us feel so welcome to share their beautiful island. They do fill up very quickly so you want to confirm as soon as you decide.

My bf just booked this tour for our port day on 12/16. We thought it looked wonderful. Just curious if you noticed anyone having motion sickness as I'm somewhat sensitive and typically don't have problems on cats depending on the bay and weather of course. Thanks!

  2. If you are coming into San Juan as a port of call you can walk to the city. If San Juan is your port of departure & you are not sailing Carnival you cannot walk to the city. Well, in truth you can but it's far & dangerous -- industrial, highways & no sidewalks

    Good to know, thanks.

  3. Thank you for that info. We have a huge port load the day we are there and have been talking about how to manage our time since we are the last ship to dock.

How do you find info on which ships or how many will be in port on any given day?

  4. We are trying to decide between Herod's and Cosol. But now I am reading good things about Spencer.

Can anybody help swing the vote one way or another?

I definitely get motion sickness, but on my last cruise in June, I used sea bands and while they are not fashionable, they worked like a charm! I even used half a bonine the first 2 days b/c I was skeptical of the bands....but the bands also worked for the week post-cruise when I'm trying to get my land legs again.

At any rate, Herods, Cosol or Spencer? Thoughts?

Good to hear about Sea Bands! I just got mine in the mail this week and fingers crossed as I too have motion sickness problems.

All the options for St Lucia tour you are considering get great reviews, and I had a terrible time deciding. In the end, I went with the best combination of itinerary, mode of transport, and reviews. For me Spencer's Land Sea and Beach took the gold because I didn't want to ride around in the back of a bus on switchbacks (transport is mostly in speedboats!!!), I wanted the mud baths, and I wanted a good length of time to relax on the beach:-) I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you decide.

  5. My boyfriend and I want to SUP (stand up paddleboard) while on our cruise and I found this company located in Carlisle Bay

Has anyone used them before? Their tours take you snorkeling from your paddleboard too! Or we could just rent but I would still really like to see the turtles and shipwrecks and not sure if they will allow us without doing the tour.

  6. I submitted the contact form last month and it took about a week to get a reply, so I booked with Spencer Ambrose in the meantime, who got back to me the very next day.

  7. I don't have tons of experience but the cruise I'm booked on next month (12/13/14 X Summit from San Juan) has gone in price a couple hundred bucks/pp but they don't offer the same promotions that I got when we booked almost 12 months ago. We got free beverage packages and an onboard credit which we will use and is worth about $800 so it wasn't worth trying to rebook for the lower price. If you don't care about cabin location or extras, then I think yes, you can get a cheaper price by waiting. Also, flights to SJU usually go up the closer you get.

  8. We have the same situation for our ports -- snorkelers and non-snorkelers in our group.

Here's a webpage I've done for Antigua. Just under the photos is "Our Plans" with 3 links to the beaches we're considering. We'll probable go to the Coconut Beach Club AI but the other beaches look great too.

As you can see at the top of my webpages, I've complied the information from various websites so the information is only as accurate and current as the original websites. Be sure to specifically verify any details that are important for your group.

This webpage is amazing and so helpful! Thank you for sharing what was obviously a lot of work compiling and researching!

  9. I will be sailing on the Summit 12/13 and this will be my first sailing with Celebrity. I would like to know:

Theme nights? how do people pack for these things? I love an excuse to wear a costume but packing room will be tight. Please advise!

Can you take snacks off the ship for your daily port of call adventure? And if so. What is the best way to go about this.

I have minor sensitivity to motion so what is the current best method to reduce this on a Summit sized ship?

Do they crank the AC in the MDR and theaters, requiring light sweaters for cold natured folks like me?

Ok, thanks for help from anyone on the questions! Obviously I haven't cruised much:)
