Hi All!

My husband and I booked our first ever cruise on the Spirit in 48 days!! We are super excited since this will be our first vacation alone together in 8 years! We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary.

 

I picked this cruise primarily on the itinerary of the Greek Isles and Italy, but to be honest, I'm starting to get nervous with the less than stellar reviews I'm reading about the ships condition.

 

We are staying in an Aft balcony cabin - its supposed to be a larger than normal cabin. I very recently found a video walk through of the cabin from 2013 and let's just say.. I'm REALLY hoping the ship has had some sort of refurb since then. When we booked this ship we were told it was going to be dry docked and refurbished this past Jan, but from the posts I've been ready that hasn't happend.

 

Has anyone sailed the Spirit recently that can give me some insight? I don't mind an older decor, I just need it to be CLEAN.

We have sailed on NCL Spirit three times and have booked again for January 2019. She is our favourite ship and we have sailed on NCL Jade, Pearl, Gem, Star, Epic and Escape as well as other cruise lines including Cunard.

 

The ship is older but has had parts of it refurnished. However we love the old fashioned grandeur and we have always found the ship spotless both in our cabin and in guest areas. We have done the behind the scenes tour twice which has included the kitchen and food prep and the ship is immaculate behind the scenes. On our cruises all the staff have been very friendly, including the officers.

Thanks to you all for your help. I received a phone call from NCL today. This is available to U.K. guest but not on two back to back cruises. In future I will book any back to back as separate cruises. Thanks again.

I have only done it once, but after I faxed them what they needed it was within the week that I heard back (might have even been the next day -- I remember it as quick).

I was told by my P.C.C. that the bidding process is not offered to European guests. If you want to upgrade you will just have to ask for the price to upgrade I,d say.

I was beginning to wonder if that is the case although it was our P.C.C. In the U.K. who originally told us about it.

We have also received emails.

I emailed the form to shareholderbenefit@ncl.com on Wednesday.

 

Today I received a phone call & voice mail stating that the credit would be applied. An updated amenity confirmation arrived in my inbox about an hour later. It's Sunday, so I was very surprised.

But if you had bought NCLH at $31 like you said a couple years ago, you are doing pretty good.:D. And having taken over 10 cruises on NCL the past 2 years the share holder credit goes to paying my Cruise Next credits. More free money. Between the share holder and cruise next programs I have received over $2500 of free money towards my NCL cruises. Happy to say I just sold NCLH last week when it hit $60.:)

Take the money and run. I will buy again when I am ready to cruise again.

Do you know how long is takes from applying for the onboard credit to benign informed that it will be on your onboard account please? Do NCL email you prior to the cruise? Thanks for your help.

Please can you advise me the best way to travel form Zeebruge to Bruges.The cruise line wants to charge 64 dollars per person which seems expensive but I do want to make sure we get back to the ship on time. Thanks in advance for your help.
