  1. After reading info here on CruiseCritic, we booked with Joyce Prince for our port stop in St Martin. We did a 5 hour private tour for our group of five. Before our cruise, she asked what our group wanted to see or do and she offered some suggestions. Our group wanted to see some beaches and do some snorkeling and the kids in the group wanted to see the planes landing at Maho beach. We also had lunch on the french side of St Maarten on Grand Case Beach. Overall we were pleased with her services.

  2. We just came back from our cruise and we did a tour with Joyce. I would highly recommend her. She picked us up in a nice van and based on what our group wanted to do she suggested several places. We had a private tour for the 5 of us. She also provided water and the best rum punch! We would use her services again if we go back to St Maarten.

  3. We just did the EleutheraTours excursion to Lighthouse last week Here's my review from Tripadvisor

"We were on Royal Princess with a stop at Princess Cays. We decided to find an excursion away from the cruise crowd and this was it. Donald picked up our group at meeting place just outside Princess Cays. The road up to Lighthouse beach is rough and rocky. Donald's drove our group up on his 4wd pickup. His daughter meet us at the Lighthouse Beach area and gave us a tour of the beach and Lighthouse. The beach was wonderful. There were at the most 10 people on the large beach. It felt like we have to beach to ourselves. Donald and his daughter provided us drinks (water, lemonade and rum punch) and a lunch cooked over a fire. We had a choice of fish, conch, chicken and veggies. They had a nice table set up for us to have our lunch and also provided masks, snorkels and beach chairs under the palms. If you want to get away from the crowds and relax on a almost private beach, this is the right excursion. Thank you to Kristel and Donald for providing us an amazing experience!"

  4. We were on the March 2 sailing and have never been on a RCL cruise so we went with an open mind. For the most part, we had a great time. Our MDR waiters were great. My husband is lactose intolerant and our waiter had special items for him to choose from every night without asking. Our only complaint was with our cabins which were fairly new on Deck 12. It seemed like the rooms had not been totally inspected or finished in a hurry. AC in our adjoining cabin went out on 2nd day and cabin also had problems with toilet. Our steward handled our cabin problems right away. Our rooms were supposed to have hair dryers but didn't (with 3 females you really need one) which again cabin steward handled. Telephones also didn't have instructions on how to reach rooms, guest services, maintenance, etc. We had a balcony and at certain times someone in a balcony on the same deck was smoking a cigar. It was so bad we didn't want to use our own balcony sometimes. Despite our cabins' problems, we enjoyed our cruise since we weren't there to spend all our time in the cabins and had a great time at all the ports.

  5. We're 1st time cruisers and just came back from 3/2 sailing of NOS. We hired a private driver through Toursplaza. We found the recommendation here on CC and Tripadvisor. We had Marco and he was great. We gave them an idea of what we wanted to do and he made suggestions. We booked him for 3 hours and ended up using his services for almost the whole day. It was nice not worrying about who we would be getting at the taxi line.

  6. I'm not a fan of Jamaica for a lot of reasons. Years and years ago (probably early 80s) we did a land trip there before the drugs/crime got so bad and stayed at Rose Hall ... it was lovely and it was safe then to even take the local bus to the straw market and other places etc. Wouldn't do that now, although I know many do, I just wouldn't feel comfortable. However, on our last cruise we stopped at Falmouth which btw is a lovely pier/port to just walk around in without going out the gates. But, we did the Chukka Horseback Ride and Swim with the horses .... it was FABULOUS!! I just posted about it yesterday and can't say enough good things about the guides, the horses, the experience ... all of it. Highly recommend it ... and it's for all levels, even if you're not a 'rider' ... they take great care of you! :) Good luck and enjoy whatever you do! :)

I just booked this our excursion for out cruise in March. I have question (1st time cruiser) about time. My booking says it starts at 11am and lasts 4hr45 mins. Ship is at port from 8-5pm. Is this cutting it close?
