Also picked up Noro, not on Allure but on Grandeur on the 2/21 - 3/3 cruise. I didn't have a fever. The Nurse ended up asking me for my symptoms and ended up giving me a shot for the nausea and some medication. I somehow found the strength to make it down to Deck 1 at 1AM in the morning, so yes, it is true that they sometimes ask you to come to the Medical Facility. I wouldn't wish this horrible virus on anyone else :(

Thank you!!

Congrats! The second floor is pretty quiet. I wouldn't expect an upgrade on the Grandeur, just because she mostly sails full. I'm going on her Saturday for my second time. Wish you guys the best of luck!

okay, but how do i pay my sea-pass account? is my sea-pass account automatically connected to my credit card?
During your online check in if you have added a credit card, then yes. You can also go to the guest services and provide cash for a cash account.

I stayed on Grandeur on deck 2 (first cruise!) and was mid-ship. We were feeling really rocky for about two days. I can't imagine what the other people were feeling. It was a good location, very quiet, and not a lot of foot traffic. It's easy to get out for port days, plus you'll get some exercise using the stairs. 4 is a bit busier since there's more things to do and it isn't just cabins. It just depends how sound of a sleeper you are. The best spot is to be on a ship anyway ;)

Do you have any of the cruise compasses? I'm going on this exact itinerary in about 2 months (so excited!)

I too was on the Grandeur when the top deck cracked - first cruise and it was a doozy! But I must say, these issues could be encountered on any cruise line. I'm sorry you didn't have a good time, maybe try one of RC's newer ships?

I'm so very sorry about your DH.
Glad you purchased insurance. I hope that in the future he will at least regain some mobility. Thank you for sharing your story.

You can consider getting a beverage package depending on how much you think you may drink. Also, there may be a package for the restaurants - have a certain amount of meals and get a percentage off. No one can say how much you may owe at the end, but you can run the numbers.
-
If you want more flexibility - try MTD (you can also go at the same time every night). If you'd like to see the same dining companions every night and have the same waiters, then go for traditional. You can't really go wrong! :)

Awesome cake and happy birthday!

Merion Mom:
Thanks for the kind words on my review. I've seen the non-summer itineraries and would love to go on one. Unfortunately, with school age children we're largely stuck with late June through mid August.
Kivi had a clean show and an adult show two nights later. As with most comedians, I found the clean show much funnier. It seems to me that clean shows are more creative,
While in the customs line I looked over to the crew debarkation area and noticed your good friend Darryl in the line with some rather flamboyant luggage. I guess he was either going on leave or transferring to another ship.
Aww man! Darryl definitely was awesome, I was hoping he'd spend a month or two at home and then come back to Grandeur. Is Ricky Matthews still there? I'm patiently waiting for the next 6 months until I'm back on GoS :D

You get a free style cup that has a chip in the bottom for the machines. You can still get soda at the bar too.

4 - Towels are provided. You just have to pick up a few, make sure you bring them back!

I stayed in 2043 back in March and it was a wonderful location. It was quiet, near the elevators, and I could really only feel the vibration the first night. For going to ports, all I had to do was go down 1 flight of stairs. There are cabins located above, so that also minimized noise.

I'm going through this right now. Thankfully I was able to make it home before symptoms appeared. I followed good hand washing procedures, but eating at the buffet is where I probably picked it up. As far as I know, there aren't any medications they can provide since it is a virus. I saw an older gentleman wearing gloves, this may help your husband?

I'm sailing on Mar 18th - Grandeur of the Seas. I didn't directly purchase through RCI, but I did link my reservation to the RCI site.

Can someone please explain how to make reservations for shows? First time cruiser here, thanks.

She's a fantastic ship, I've been on her twice. I'm going to try other ships now since I've gotten norovirus twice on her, but I don't hold it against her. I thoroughly enjoyed the crew and the activities.
