Hello all. I can't believe that getting married in 4 days! It's been a long but exciting journey and I'm looking forward to how everything comes together, as it is officially out of my hands. I will try to post some pics after the cruise, and hopefully I can answer more questions when everything's done.

Here is some pics.
You were glowing...absolutely beautiful pictures.

If you go with the sound technician instead of the DJ at the club (we aren't really into clubs... where is the reception location? Do you provide a disc with all of the songs you'd like played?
I understand you don't the call with your exact location until a couple of weeks beforehand, but do you know what the possible location options are?
Hi there :)
I know a couple of the options are the stage lounge and the library. There are other options that I can't recall at the moment, but you can email carnival at weddings@carnival.com or guestinfo@carnival.com and they'll be able to provide you with more options. Also, the options are based on the availability of the date that you have selected for your reception.
Also, as far as music, you provide the disc and the technician will play it accordingly.
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)
Happy planning!!

Any updates?!
So far, I have the wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. I plan on ordering the invitations next month and dropping the dresses off to be altered at the end of September.
How're your plans coming along?

How much $$ is the 1 hour reception back on the boat after the wedding on the island? I'm having a hard time finding a price list for that.
Lauraally, I'm not sure what the price is for an hour reception. I would call Carnival's Wedding department to get that information. I paid $950 for the 2 hour reception; so I'm going to guess it's going to cost less than that :)

We're getting married on the Jan 25, 2015 sailing on Carnival Valor. We decided to go with an island wedding on St Thomas (1st port of call) because of cost and the beautiful setting. Any of the wedding planners there will help with the marriage licensing logistics if that's a worry.
Cat29, I was under the impression that Carnival wanted you to apply for your marriage license about 60 days before the ceremony? Have they changed those requirements?

I am also getting married at GOH on Cayman. My wedding is on May 6, 2015. I am super excited! Also booked directly through Carnival. I haven't contacted the Wedding Experience yet for add ons. Did they send you photos for the flower pillars, and other extras?
TWE does send pictures for add ons of arches, flowers and boutonnières if you request. Also, they will help you book additional music accompaniments if you wish.

Are you going with Carnival for the Ceremony? I didn't know they had add on things like the arches and what not.... do they have a price list for these items? And was the steel drum player from Carnival? We would like the 2 hour reception as well. What room are you choosing? I thought the only reception area was the night club. What does the sound technician all do? Sorry I have so many questions! :) We are booking this week so I haven't gotten to ask all of them yet.
Yes, I'm going with carnival for the ceremony. The Wedding Experience takes care of the details for the island ceremony, and they also provide a price list if you ask.
The night club is only a must as a reception area if you request to have the DJ; and the sound technician basically just plays the songs that I'm providing for the reception. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I'm also learning along the way :)

So great we are so close! You'll have to let me know your details.
We're going to get married at Osprey Beach in Grand Turk, which is the first port of the cruise. We have ordered the bamboo arch with tulle (Malibu blue) and we have to wait for the wedding date to get closer to see if we can have a steel pan player for the ceremony. As far as the reception goes, it'll take place back on the ship. We upgraded it to 2 hours and have already ordered our 2 tier cake, which will be chocolate with vanilla cream and vanilla with coconut filling. We decided to play our own songs, so we're just going to have the sound technician. I didn't want the DJ as it required the reception to be in the club. We're also expecting between 40 and 50 guests with two of them boarding the ship just for the reception. I have already sent out our STD, which were heart magnets, which I ordered from magnetstreet.com. I was really impressed with the quality of them. My dress has already arrived :) and I'm waiting to get the bridesmaids together, which will consist of our two kids and my bestfriend, to try on the dresses that I have in mind for them.

Getting married on 3/17/15 on the Liberty

Thank you Bo59rt. That site is so much fun. I love that I can customize the veil and shoes, if I desire :)

Thank you for your helpful responses Carnival_Brides and dcdiva. I have followed your advice and called the wedding department.
My guests will be able to board the ship for the reception at Grand Turk. According to the wedding department, the only ports in which non-sailing guests can not board the ship are in the ports of Grand Cayman and Half Moon Cay, as these are tender ports.

Sure you did ;) Good job, by the way.
How do I send a private message?

Thank you canesgirl! It's exactly what I was looking for. Some of the other sites I have visited for interracial cake toppers had no variety whatsoever or were just plain unflattering. I'm going to have my yang go over the site with me so we can decide :)

I have just found out that two of my wedding guests will be staying on Grand Turk for a week, thus giving them a chance to attend my wedding ceremony whick will take place on said island.
Does anyone know if these particular guests will be able to board the ship for the reception and leave before debarkation from the island? Or will they just be able to attend the ceremony?
-
Congratulations! When you get a chance, post some pics. I would love to see the highlights of the ceremony and reception.
-
Quick question. Where did Kel order the inter-racial cake topper? I have been looking for a decent one for months now.

We are also getting married at Osprey Beach but in April 2015 I would love if you could share your experience Yin&Yang 2010.
I will most certainly do that. What ship are you sailing on?

We are getting married at Osprey Beach in Grand Turk in 2015. We are trying to decide between a reception on the Island or back on the boat. I love the Island so I hate to bring all the guests back on the boat but.... I have no idea what time my wedding will be. Any suggestions on what I should do? Please help
I can tell you that Carnival does not cater to receptions on land. In order to have your wedding reception on the island, you will have to find an on-island business that does so, maybe Osprey Beach hotel can help you with that request. The tricky part of that idea (which I had myself) is that everything is up in the air. The ship may be delayed on its arrival to the port, or the ship may be scheduled to leave soon after the ceremony. Unfortunately, the scheduled time of the ceremony will not be known until about 3 weeks out from your wedding date.
Instead, I opted to have the ceremony on the island then have the reception onboard. By doing so, I can guarantee that my guests will not miss the ship due to being too intox or feeling the stress of having to hurry to the ship after the reception ;) Also, by having the ceremony on the island and the reception onboard, gives me a chance to get a variety of wedding photos of the beach, as well as the ship.
I hope I have helped you somewhat :)

How cool is that! Everything looks great. I especially like your brochures and suitcase. I do not have a creative bone in my body, so I'm always amazed to see someone create such wonderful DIYs :)

So, I'm getting married on Osprey Beach in Grand Turk during a 7/8 day cruise. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on the wording for the invitations? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I should probably add that the reception will take place aboard the Carnival Liberty.

I had a photographer from Carnival take my wedding pictures and they turned out great! I have no complaints. Attached are some of the pics from the wedding. I hope they help you with your decision. Also Carnival does not allow professional photography, so flashes are not allowed. Best of luck :)
