  1. My DW and I are planning a cruise for our 5 year anniversary. This is my 5 cruise and her 2. Her first trip we chose a ocean view room. I have done everything from a interior room to a balcony room myself. We do not spend a ton of time in our room, mainly only to sleep at night and change cloths so we are thinking we will save a little money and do a interior cabin.

While booking we have the option to choose from rooms on level 3, 7-10. What are the benefits to choosing one of the higher levels? Is it just being closer to the action? Are they bigger or more quiet?

  2. Headed on a cruise tomorrow on the oasis and cannot find where it say the earliest boarding time or what time the port opens to accept customers?

I like to be on the ship as early as possibly so what is the earliest time I can show up at the port?

  3. Do the stores on the ship have better deals then I will be able to fond locally? I'm talking sunglasses, watches, and jewelry mainly. What about cigarettes and alcohol? And yes I know the gold by the foot is fake and will turn your arm green. Seen it first hand :)

  5. What do you all recommend as a Must try food on the Oasis. Lets get specific here. list what you had, how it was cooked and any toppings you had with it. I keep reading all of these review and they talk about the good the bad and the ugly, lets list all the good here. I am no foodie my any means but I feel I usually get the same thing over and over because I dont know what else to try. Hoping this list would give me option when I fell myself in the rut.

I feel that you can break it down into 4 sections. MDR, Windjammer, Specialty dining, and complimentary dining. we can have more than 3 favorites in each category but lets make a running list for people to take with them and try

    1.

    2.

  6. I would rent a boat. Check out Pirates Paradise Adventures or St. Thomas Boat rental. Little $$ but worth every penny!!

    Good Luck

PBB, where did you rent from? What size boat?

I plan on renting a boat no matter what, justing is where? In St Thomas or St. John's.

Anyone know how long the boat ride is from St Thomas to St. John? Weather should be good in June but I'm worried about rough seas. I am an avid boater and have plenty of experience but better safe than sorry.

Anyone taken a small boat across to St. John's before?

Also there is 2 ferries. How long is the taxi ride to the red hook ferry? Is it any faster then taking the once from Charlotte Amalie? Looks like the one from red hook runs every hour or so while the once from Charlotte only runs twice a day.

  7. So i am decided that when we are in St Thomas we are going to rent a small boat and drive around, sight see and snorkel on our own. from what i have read, snorkeling is better at St John. so I have found 2 options:

First is rent a small boat in St Thomas and drive it over to St John and spend the day there. this is a little bit of a ride on a small boat. but i dont have to worry about the ferry back and forth.

Second is take the ferry from St Thomas to St John and rent a boat there. dont have the long ride but have a ferry ride that is longer but dont have to burn the gas.

both looks like they will be a wash in price. what would you recommend. I feel if i rent in ST Thomas we will get more play time than if i have to take the Ferry

  8. We are looking to go to St. Thomas on the Oasis June 14 and looking for a mini boat tour in either St. Thomas or St. Maarten.

The one in St Thomas is Captain Nautica mini boat tour. The one in St Maarten is the Rhino Rider tour.

Has anyone experienced either of these? Is the snorkling better at one island over the other?

Looks like Captain Nautica provided snacks and drink but no mention of that with Rhino Rider.

Any info provided would be great
