  1. we flew from Haneda in Feb, getting to the airport may be the easiest part. Narita is a lot further according to google maps. The lines at Haneda were huge. I'm glad we arrived at the airport 3 hours prior to the flight. By the time we went thru immigration etc we only had less than 30 min wait before fight was called.

  2. B2B cruises out of Sydney or Brisbane require on board Rapid Antigen tests, given by RCCL staff to passengers 1 day prior to the second leg.

Royal website doesnt give the info I'm chasing regarding B2B cruises, guess I'll find out onboard.

Not so much asking about the ports ie USA, but RCCL protocols. RCCL in Aust still requires Negative RATS tests when boarding a cruise.

I know on the transpacific from Honolulu on Ovation last October there were quite a few who had to get off in Honolulu after testing positive and weren't allowed to continue on to Sydney, plenty were Aussies who had flown to Vancouver to sail back. If you had already tested positive earlier and were towards the end of the isolation period then you stayed on, but if you were one who they picked up on the testing the day before arrival to Honolulu then you had to leave the ship.

Bummer, lets hope thats changed by May, just in case. Could be expensive if booted off.

  3. Hi All, Does anyone know if doing B2B's ie Sydney to Honolulu thru to Vancouver then Seattle, whether RCCL still does Rats tests on B2B cruisers prior to final port of each leg. Just wondering what would happen if we test positive on the first leg and still have another 2 to go. When previously on Quantum they advised us if positive we would not be able to continue on the second leg, which would have been fine as we were in our own country, but when leaving Sydney and going all the way thru to Seattle, this is a bit of a worry if they want us off.

  4. Many many years ago we had bought several pewter trinkets in KL.

Had tucked all our souvenirs in one place near the window.

Unfortunately when the curtains were drawn back they were covered and we missed packing them. only noticed an hour or so after leaving the ship.

Called RCL they sent someone to have a look and said there was nothing there.

Called the shore agent and they went on board and found the items exactly where I said they would be.

Managed to collected them from the shore agent the following day. So relieved.

  6. Hoping someone who was on this cruise last year can answer this question to assist with my onward Flight booking for the same cruise this year.

Did you arrive at Cape Liberty Cruise Port?

What time did the ship arrive?

    Can you self disembark?

Is there a Customs bag checks or immigration.

Any ideas how long it would take to get from the Port to JFK for a flight to HNL?

Have been looking at flights from Newark, but there's more selection from JFK.

    Thanks for any info

  7. Thankyou everyone for the prompt and extensive info.

Yes we are on Adventure in 2019 but being an organiser i am checking flights for this year to get a heads up on whats possible.

Hmm hadnt figured in the immigration. Many thanks for that reminder. Last time we were over that side we did full immigration at first port which was boston so hopefully the same, however that does change my mind re flights. Just incase.

Luckily with the ESTA we went thru the quick lines as we're already security checked so to speak. Or did so last time. Might have changed now.

Once again many thanks. Might consider an overnight prior to flying to HNL. Just need to be in HNL by the 30th to catch Ovation back to Sydney :D:D:D😁

    Thanks karen

  8. Morning all.

Wondering if anyone can assist with the timings required for the following.

We arrive in new jersey 27th sept. Looking at flying straight to honolulu.

How long should i allow to get to the airport? Is a 10am flight do-able?

And which is the best airport to fly from when disembarking in New Jersey

    Thanking you all in advance

  9. Hi All.

Not sure if this has been asked before, but cant find it.

Wondering if there are any plugs on the TV's on Voyager that will allow us to watch movies via the Laptop,

Assuming Voyager is the same as other RCCL ships and only has Pay per View movies.

If anyone can please advise what the setup is, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

  10. Morning everyone,

I know someone can answer this question :)

Arriving back from Alaskan cruise on a tuesday and need to fly on to Spokane.

Which would be the best airport to fly out of (traffic - getting there) in SanFrancisco and what would you recommend the earliest flight could be? Princess states at least 5 hours for domestic but I know we've done it sooner

Any information would be greatly appreciated

ps we're looking at booking with Alaskan airlines if that impacts anything, only because they're the shortest flight

    Thanks

    Karen

  11. Hi Everyone , Just a quick question regarding the DVD players in the rooms.

Do we have to get the movie selections from the Library etc or can we bring our own selection? If so which region do they play?

Also is there provision on the TV to allow USB's to be used so we can bring our own selection of movies from Home, like you would watch via a tablet etc on a plane.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

We're seasoned cruisers but new to HAL, and this thread is very informative, many thanks

  12. This question refers specifically when Sea Princess is doing her Australian sailings.

Is the Buffet still open of an Evening or are we confined to traditional dining.

I know the Buffet is open on other cruises but had heard when doing Australian sailing the dining arrangements are changed.

If anyone who's recently been on an Australian sailing please advise.

    Many thanks

    Karen
