Hi all, I am thinking of booking a cruise direct with celebrity. If I book now for March 2020 and the cruise price drops, will I be refunded the difference by Celebrity. I know Princess will do this but not sure about celebrity.

Is there any luggage storage in Miami cruise terminal? Our flight is not until 2pm, so we have a few hours in the morning before we head out.

Hi everyone!
We’re on board and just wanted to let you know that not only our room was upgraded to the yacht club area but our experience was upgraded at no cost to us.
We have the all inclusive drink benefit and full use of all of the amenities.
I’m not sure what we did to deserve this but we are very grateful for this opportunity.
So far the staff has been fantastic! I have a feeling this will be a cruise we’ll never forget!
Great news, enjoy your cruise!

We just received our cruise documents for 6th May cruise. Still showing Cuba on the itinerary and we have been allocated the 2 free people to people excursions now too.

Hi all,
I was just going to ask a question about a site that had a lot of cabin photos displayed. Then I remembered a bit of the name! Quick google and I had the site link. My new question is whether this is posted as a sticky anywhere on these boards so others can find easily. Very useful information.
The one I remembered was: https://sites.google.com/site/cabinviewbyrenmar/home/introduction
However, there now seems to be a new website https://cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/index.php although it appears you need to be a member $ to view the photos...

We’re booked May 6th and it’s not looking good 😓😓
Yes we are also on that cruise. Called MSC today and they suggested that the cruise would still call at Havana. If UK citizen we were advised we were fine. So at this point the cruise is still scheduled to dock in Havana.

I just got status matched to silver. I matched to a hotel points membership with IHG. I have a cruise booked through a TA with a deposit that we just made this week -- booked it then heard about the status match. Can i still get a 5% discount or is that just on a new booking?
Thanks.
Yes my TA applied for the discount on a cruise I had already booked.

I believe that I have submitted the application from MSC's site for the status match. How long does it normally take for them to acknowledge the submission or to respond to the match?
I'm in the UK and it was a couple of days for me. I queried my match and got an upgrade to Gold. TA applied the discount no problem.

If all goes well that should match to MSC gold.
It did, but I got matched to silver first, had to query it.
Thanks all 🙂

No, it's for everyone.
Here is the UK link: https://www.msccruises.co.uk/manage-booking/msc-voyagers-club/status-match
Many thanks all, just applied against Platinum on Princess. Will 5% be paid by TA or onto cruise account?

Do a status match.
If you have a good status with Royal or Celebrity MSC will match the level. Even at classic (entry level which is normally not issued until after your first cruise) you will get 5% off which can be applied even if you have already booked.

Is this for US customers only?

Continuing on dining since I answered some questions on that ...
MDR - No free lobster, but I don't eat lobster anyway. Food was good, not great, but on par with other lines. Most portion sizes were fine, although a couple were too small (main one being lobster ravioli that was an entree but barely enough food for an appetizer). We mainly ordered the healthy choices which included salmon, grilled chicken, and fruit plates. The one thing we would have liked was more vegetables as side dishes. A couple things were odd, such a "strawberry yogurt shake" that was served as a dessert but was really a cold soup. Service was fine all nights but one which was during the any time dining in Cuba. As mentioned, dress codes and dining times did not seem to be strictly enforced. We ate in the dining room most nights, except the two nights are excursions were late returning and the night we ate in Surf & Turf. We also ate a couple of lunches in the MDR and breakfast on the last day.
Surf & Turf - We had a complimentary meal here due to black status (status match with another line.) The menu was very limited. There were only three appetizers, none of which really appealed to us. I ordered the crab cake anyway even though I normally don't like them, and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Filet was very good, but nothing exceptional. Sides were also very limited. I ordered the baked potato which was very small and the mushrooms which was a lot more than I would normally eat on a steak. We had the red velvet cake which was fine, and the mexican chocolate cake which was extremely salty. Two other things I will mention is that unlike the MDR, there is no free water here. You have to pay for water (or use a drinking package or drink coupon. Also, you are right next to La Pergola, and the waiters from there walk through Surf & Turf with the dirty dishes from La Pergola, ruining the ambiance. I really don't think anyone in Surf & Turf was actually paying for the meal, and I would not be willing to pay for it.
Buffet - I found the buffet to be fine, with a good assortment of choices including a wide variety of fruit. I never found long lines and never had a problem getting a table. The pizza area had some odd pizzas (like tuna), but also had some that were absolutely fantastic. I never ate at the grill. The gelato was excellent, but was always just chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I also wished that the gelato hours were longer. It closed at 7 and we would have liked gelato in the evening.
Hi, Which other cruise line is matched with MSC ? Didn't realise they owned another line?

Hi, This was on my booking confirmation from the TA. When I log into MSC I can only see excursions. Where do you see/select the seating option on there?

Early dining is 6pm and late is 8.30pm, unless you're in a suite; then it's between 6pm and 9.30pm.
🙂 yes but which one of those times is Main Seating? We don't have a time, nor does it say early or late.

Which ship? EM
MSC Armonia
-
Hi all,
What time is Main Seating in the MDR? Our booking doesn't specify what time this is.
Thanks, Sandy
-
Hi Dave, I thought you received 2 free people to people tours on the Armonia for Havana? Are these optional and you can book your own tours? Cheers
-
Did anyone hear which ship/date?
-
We booked a veradah guarantee VF grade. Just got a VC verandah allocated. Right at the back of the ship but no connecting door and a glass balcony so I am pleased with this.

Can you bring soda and water on at any port or just at embarkation?

Hi there,
I have called twice now and both times been told no upsell offers. I have 16 days until we cruise, did I phone too early? Are some people not offered upsells? Any idea how HAL operates in this area?
DO NOT WAIT! Ask now. You have nothing to lose except a phone call and you might get an idea of if and when they will be offered. It does not hurt to alert your TA that you are interested in an upsell.Keep in mind that HAL seldom will offer you a good deal on an upsell if you call them, unless of course you did not get the email for some strange reason or your TA "forgot" to call you about it (always possible).
-
Thanks for posting this, we have a guarantee VF and new to HAL I hadn't realised these could have the metal balcony. Good to hear that it had no impact as I was a bit concerned about any obstruction.
We were in cabin 4020 (forward) with zero obstruction and a huge balcony (appeared to be more than twice the size of a standard balcony). We loved this cabin! We did not feel any more motion of the ocean than in other locations. The railing is metal instead of plexiglass, so this is considered "obstructed view" but it had no impact on our enjoyment of the balcony. The cabin next door with the plexiglass was $600.00 per person more! There are no fully obstructed views on deck 4. The lifeboats are on deck 3 so the VH cabins on deck four look down on the tops of the lifeboats. The view straight out is not impaired. The forward cabins have no lifeboats below. -
Can you switch cabins? I personally dislike connecting cabins and the ones which have overhead bunks to accommodate 4 people because of the reduced cabin space. Also cabins near the funnel due to vibration.
We have a QB vista suite reserved on the Maasdam, the deck plan shows that it is a "connecting cabin".Will we have noise coming from the other cabin, or is the door soundproof?
