Thank you so much. I will talk to the host about it. It helps that I now have a working idea of what to ask for.

On the Viva right now and tomorrow night is the last night. Thought I read somewhere that casino host can trade in points for certificates similar to cruisenext. I just not sure the right verbiage to search or ask for. Help is always appreciated.

Just a final thank you to all that responded. I feel much more comfortable. Yes, I'll look into the insurance and NCL airport transfers. But mostly I appreciate the good honest advice.

Thanks Cole, its a nonstop. I'm leaving from Chicago in February, on the only non-stop flight on American Airlines. Thank you all for the advice, I will definitely price out some trip delay insurance versus rebooking.

Thanks Rodndonna, that's a promising bit of news. It tells me that NCL planners feels that the turnaround time from airport to ship is doable. On paper anyways.
Graphicguy as always you are very insightful. I'm leaving from Chicago in February, on the only direct flight that day. The reasonable (unreasonable for me) option was to come in the day before. I guess I went through all the variables in my head before I booked this flight, just having buyers remorse.

I have a trip scheduled on the Viva out of San Juan in February 2024. I normally arrive a day early being fully aware of what could go wrong. However, this time I took a gamble with scheduling a direct flight into SJU arriving at 2:45 PM on embarkation day. The ship leaves at 8 PM. This would normally give me a an hour and a half to three hours to make the cut-off.
I just would like input concerning this turnaround. I'm not familiar with SJU or the port in San Juan. I've already booked the flight and would be subject to change fees and hotel costs if I were to change. Please no lectures

I received a land based casino offer that I applied to 7 day cruise on the Encore. The certificate was for an Oceanview and I upgraded several levels up to Club Balcony. The final payment date passed last week and of course the prices have dropped significantly. I don't expect much because of the certificate picking up the bulk of the price. I am going to call and try to negotiate an OBC, what my question is what to base the starting amount on? The price drop or the amount I paid originally for the upgrade? Any suggestions or experiences are welcome. Thanks 🙏

But they do offer the social wifi package for a reasonable price. It's a daily price you pay for the length of your cruise. Cruises being of different length they don't have a standard package price. This wifi package allowed me to message home and to friends with no cost to them.

Thanks for your info, you hit my issues right on the head. The additional information is that we arrive on a flight from ORD on United. And yes, the ships scheduled departure is 4pm. I don't know much about what terminal we land at but I am curious about your saying we might have to take a shuttle to a remote parking lot for our bus. Is that a shuttle from the airport or an NCL shuttle?
-
Actually arrives at 12:15PM on a Sunday. Must disembark plane, collect luggage and find NCL shuttle. I figure waiting for luggage and all, be on the bus by 1pm. Traffic on a Sunday afternoon could be light, so my question is how long before I'm on board the ship? Any guesses? I can't fathom earlier than 2:30pm.

One other option to incur no fees, is to start a line of credit. The form is on the NCL site and I have used this way several times. On the last evening I write the casino cage a check for the exact amount I withdrew during the trip.

RedRover, yes, we are on the roll call. I'm not very active in writing a lot but love to be a lurker. BTW saw previews of Velvet on YouTube and looks to be a disco cirque show.

I'm on the cruise with you, RedRover. The only currently available booking for this show is Friday at 12:30 PM for $30. The evening shows are not priced and won't go through for reservation.

Thank you for the replies. We made reservations only because there are 4 of us in 2 cabins trying to coordinate dinner and making a show on time. Also, this was a port day and there will be many people trying to do the same once back on board. I will call tomorrow.

Made a reservation for 4 in the Manhattan room, from the NCL app, on a May cruise. I now wish to change the reservation to a different restaurant and cannot find a way to cancel. Trying to add a new/different reservation just says that I have a conflicting reservation. A catch-22. Please help.

Many questions but the easy and fast answer is that the free cruise will work out to a buy one get one free cost. An inside stateroom is allowed one free at sea promotion, such as the drink package. Upgrading to a balcony will not give you more promotion offers. With port charges, gratuities on the drink package, etc. expect to pay about $1200 for two in a balcony room on most cruise destinations.
Does NCL casino have certificates like cruisenext for point trade?

Thanks everyone. I received my certificate without a hiccup.
