  1. Our Fb 13 cruise is cancelled.  If I take the FCC I can do another one in 2022 but will have 200 bucks left over.  Will happens with that? Can it be used for an excursion or OBC or what?

Port fees, taxes, insurance etc. Can that be applied to the new booking or must it be refunded?
This was to be the first Princess, but not first cruise.

  2. We're cruising from Galveston for the first time, a 5 day.

I've heard conflicting information and want to get clarity.

    1.  Is the Cheers package  not available on the first day? When is it available?
    2.  Can coffee, milkshakes and bottled water be bought on the first day with the Cheers package?

    3. If it's not available on the first day, they only charge for the remaining 4 days?
    TIA

  3. We've had mixed experiences. We are b&w couple in late 60's been together over 40 years.

Our first cruise was Elation, we were the only people to show up at the FOD on the first two nights and we didn't go again.  We saw almost no gay people around the ship.

Next cruise was Liberty, the FOD attendance was quite good even though it was at a popular.

Three cruises on Royal but those have been with Arno's Bear group.

4 cruises on Celebrity. On the first, Reflection, a very good turn out for the FOD.
On the Solstice the meetup was at a pricey bar and the few that showed up were not inclined to socialize. Saw only a few around the ship.
Our two on Infinity had few at FOD but lots of friendly gay folks around the ship.

We have fun no matter what. We've got a Carnival and Princess cruise planned.

  5. I have the opposite problem.  We are booked on our FIRST MSC trip on Nov 3 on Meraviglila for a 5 day.  Now I see a 7 day cruise on Nov 7 and can't find my cruise.
I have heard NOTHING from MSC, I found this out a few minutes ago in a post here on CC.

If you hear an angry old man screaming and cussing; it's me talking to MSC.

Unless they talk reallllly nice I'll be telling MSC to stuff it and go back to Celebrity.

I don't get emails from Carnival. It's like I no longer exist with them. Yes, I have two cruises booked, but I guess since the earliest is in October they figure things will be normal by then.

I have a booking at the end of June 2020.  I've heard NOTHING from Carnival, no email, nothing. When I log in  the cruise is still active as if it was still going to happen.
I'd love to transfer it to another cruise at the same price but crickets....

Carnival has suspended all ship sailings until 26 June.... I guess you found one for the 27th?  If I were you, I wouldn’t spend any time on this deal.

I booked it over the weekend.  Fantastic low low price.

  8. It's been several years since we cruised on Carnival, so long in fact that we have stopped getting flyers and solicitations.  But now we are booked on Dream 5 day.
Does Carnival occasionally do sales on Cheers?

Also, it's a 5 night cruise. Will the formal night have lobster?

    TIA

Some of the ones midship are a lot larger ... you can tell from the deck plans as they jut out in a peak. They have enough room to spread out a bit.

Thanks. Those are more than we want to pay.

  11. We've never been on Princess but considering it due to a great sale.  Enchanted Princess, still being built.
We spend much time on the balcony.
We have found that Carnival balconies at 35sqft are cramped for us, not enough room to stretch our legs out completely forward. We have been for the past 5 cruises on Celebrity or Royal in the large "hump" balcony.

Anyone  know how newer Princess balconies compare?  Category BB or BC.

    Thanks

  12. Ship Celebrity Solstice: Seattle, Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Victoria. Seattle.

    Deck 10  Cabin 1120 Starboard
    Concierge Class Balcony.

    Bed near balcony.
Balcony size: Enormous. On the hump. One side was 12 foot deep.  Almost no wind, no soot.
    Food in MDR was good.
Food in buffet was excellent. We ate there every time except for lobster tail night in MDR and the boarding day Concierge lunch.
    We did no shows

Music was AWFUL. No piano bar, the musicians were young wannabees. One band had a drummer who could not stay on the beat. One young guy was off tune the whole time.  They all seem to think the louder the better.  Celebrity needs to spend good money to get professional people.

I have tons of pics but having technical issues with moving from camera to desktop--sorry.
Hot tubs were warm tubs. Few kids at all. Older demographic.

Service was excellent. They were all very friendly and helpful. Abdul and Angga on the Sunset Bar went over and above to serve us. We tried Duck Fart. Very tasty drink.

  13. We cannot use credit card.

    We cannot use US dollars

Will a  merchant(cigar/souvenir) accept Euros? Or do we go to a bank prior and get Euros which can be exchanged for Cuban currency at the cruise port.

    Correct?

Yes, the question is about Alaska, so relevancy? And, as you don't mention cruise line or port, hard to learn anything from your info. For example, Carnival (note the OP is on Celebrity,  which doesn't have said reputation)is known for not changing clocks. And Puerto Vallarto ( I know, not in the Caribbean) is confusing sometimes because it is right on a time zone line.

So no specifics is really of little value.

I stated it was Solstice, that's a Celebrity ship which I assumed everyone would realize.
All of Alaska is on same time zone so it mattered little that it is Juneau Ketchikan and Skagway; all the same. Only different time zone is Seattle which is irrelevant to my question.
