We disembarked from Breakaway on Jan 8th. Our cabin door opened with a tap of the card. All of the lanyards I saw in use were the plastic sleeve type.
Thanks much!

Totally off-topic question. But I am traveling with a group of people February 10. And I would like to buy them all lanyards.
On the Breakaway, are they using cards that can have a hole punched into them yet? Or are they RFID cards? That should be in a plastic sleeve?

Anyone do intermittent fasting? Just started and would love to connect with others who do. Which method, how you have adjusted, success or so so.
Thanks for starting this topic. I have just recently heard of intermittent fasting and it’s great to read the success stories. Maybe after the screws I will look into hitting that hard so I can fit into my old sizes on my next year’s cruise! Thanks for starting this topic. Do the pre purchase packages fluctuate? I received an OBC from CC points, now, when I log in to my cruise planner, the cost "includes my discount", but is still higher then it was 3 days ago.
I've seen posts where the cost for a 5 day cruise is $48 ...That includes the day we disembark? at 7-9am in the MORNING?
Thanks for your comments or feedback!

We tried them on our first cruise (specifically the FRS radios).
They don't work if either person is on a different deck, or separated by a metal wall or floor (almost anyplace on the ship other than the open deck).
They also tend to annoy your fellow cruisers.
They have more value when you're ashore, if you're not going to be together.
The FRS radios are cheap, small and light.
You're welcome to borrow mine for your cruise, and see if you like them. Send me an e-mail at:

This was an amazing offer and very kind. I'm sorry that in FOUR YEARS ago no one has made mention of your generosity

Don't worry too much about the shots. This appears to be just another case of poor training or communication by the Royal reps. Everyone who has come back from sailing with the package has said that shots were included, although the souvenir glasses were not.
Hi all! My DH and I just returned from Liberty ots a week ago we bought the highest package available. It did include shots. We had shots of baily's every morning in our lattes. It also included pretty much any drink I could come up with from the menu. My hubby discovered frozen long islands a those were covered too. You are not able to get a round of shots for the table, but who would expect you could?
Liberty has an amazing wine bar on the promanade, and we spend a lot of time sitting out front watching people stroll. We were never long without a glass of wine and the server was amazing. He was happy to serve us and we never got the feeling from him that our package was an inconvienience.
HOWEVER, we could not go above $12 without paying for the whole amount. He had no way of charging only the difference. There were discussions amongst us and he and other cruisers. The only way (im)possible would be to charge a glass with a similar amount and that would severely ascew the inventory. And how to charge a $18 glass? Add $6?? $6 glasses were covered. WE WERE COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH THE SITUATION. He learned our tastes, and we were never disappointed with the vintages he offered. If you are someone who regularly drinks $30 glasses of wine, you don't need the drink package IMO. :)
I can't tell you how much we saved. But I did love not having to sign a slip every order. The tips are included and now that I know that water was $3 a bottle, I'm certain we came out ahead. It was fair that they didn't allow you two drinks at a time but you can walk past a bar every 5 min if you really need to. We did collect water for our offshore jaunts, and kept a couple extra in our room.
An added bonus was the Cafe Promenade. All frozen coffe drinks and espressos were included. Yay! That saved us $15 a day alone. :)
We are not heavy drinkers. We do tend to drink more on vacation, but not to the point of drunk. I will certainly purchase the package again.

I've read all the replies and there are a lot of answers here! Thanks.
My online check in info says I have till feb 5 (for my feb 10 cruise on the Liberty) to purchase. That had given me the impression that I could only pre but the premium package. We had some question of worth also, but decided to do it for the opportunity to try new drinks, and the up graded wine, although there don't seem to be many in the $12 category. Most are $9 and then I assume many are above.
The coffee and water were a value also, especially if we can take it off ship. Our cruise includes Labadee, so if the package is valid there, all the better.
We do seem to gravitate toward the premium choices at Starbucks, so it will be interesting to see how well we do with the 'premium coffees' at the bars.
We have an onboard credit, so I would like to use it toward our drink packages. But if they are more money after you board, that would just be silly. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks, Char
You absolutely CAN buy it onboard as long as you have 4 days remaining on the cruise.
Hmmm. My cruise planner for Liberty Of the Seas ( sailing in 21 days ) tell me I have to purchase the package by 2/6. 4 days prior to sailing. -
Here's the description of the packages:

The Ultimate adds premium coffee/tea, sparkling water, and fresh squeezed OJ to the Premium package.
Premium coffees yes, but be aware it DOES NOT include Starbucks. We spent a lot of $ during our last cruise on specialty coffees at the coffee shop. The coffees included in your package are coffees from the bars, not Starbucks. Which means the Premium package isn't as attractive to us. -
Can you get it and cancel at anytime?
Can't cancel. And you can't buy it once on board. Up to 4 days before the cruise.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –
The cabin was great. I didn’t notice any uncommon noises from the hallway or above. We were only three doors off the elevator bays, so that was pretty awesome
Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -
No
Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – the balcony view was wonderful. no obstructions, shaded from the balconies above
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size
Was wind a problem? - no
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -Not applicable
Any specific problems with this cabin? - Looking at the bed the USB port in the lamp on the left did not work. We forgot to report it
Any other comments? - my favorite attribute of this room was that it was very close to the elevator bays, but not close enough to be noisy. Mid ship elevators so you’re always halfway to your room. Did you know that they store extra sheets and towels under the couch? I never would’ve thought to look there!
