  1. We were on the Koningsdam for an 18 day Hawaii Cruise. The grand Dutch Cafe was lovely and most food items are included at no charge. There was lots of space if you wanted to participate in games, trivia, Tai Chi but limited space in the art room for doodling, brush writing or painting classes. We especially enjoyed the band in the Rolling Stone Lounge.

We only went to the dining room once when it opened and found it to be a little rushed. Lido Buffet had plenty of choices and once you found a seat you could take your time. The pizza and panicotta on the pool deck was something to try many times.

The pool chairs were often taken but the smoking pool was not so crowded and not very smoky. Pickle ball lessons and casual tournaments were fun.

    All staff were amazing!

I'm going on a 12-day cruise in December and see the option to buy an Unlimited Fitness Class Pass for $99.  Are these passes offered on board as well, or do I need to purchase this before hand?  Also, I see this strange wording in the details:   "Available on cruises of 8 days or more, and classed must be booked for 10 consecutive days. I don't know what this means.

    Thank you!

In April classes were $20 each and you can only get the pass at the gym, not in advance.

Am I incorrect reading that I am no longer allowed to bring a 12 pack of canned soda aboard? I only drink diet, non- caffeinated  sodas. I do not drink any alcoholic beverages, so the "Have it all package" is out. My husband and I drink 1 coffee a day, then sodas, so The quench package make no sense. So it appears I am going to be required to purchase the soda package and hope the ship has caffeine free coke or Sprite Zero?? This is my first trip back on Holland since the shutdown, and I am getting frustrated at all their changes. Even the "each" person in the stateroom must purchase rule is frustrating.

Before the shutdown, we had a 10 day cruise where they had ZERO diet sodas, caffeinated or not. They ran out the prior cruise and it was not replenished prior to us leaving Ft. Lauderdale. I had purchased a soda package at the time, and had a hard time getting it refunded, as regular soda were available. I had to drink iced tea until we got to a port where I could purchase and bring some on.

On the Koningsdam there was a beverage dispenser for the soda package. There were lots of choices from the Coca Cola company including Zero and caffein free. It comes with a special insulated cup and you can refill every hour. we did not find we used it as much as we thought. I found the $100 beverage card was just about the perfect amount for alcohol and specialty coffees on our 18 day cruise.

  4. We did the tube tour back in 2012 and had a great time! They had advised us not to take cameras and to bring bug spray. We never had or needed bug spray on the islands at all. if you have a waterproof camera or a waterproof case for your phone, take it. we were sorry not to have taken ours. It was bit sprinkly the day we went but that did not ruin our fun.

We have bought them on a few cruises but the quality of the classes depends on the instructor. They have ranged from excellent, where the instructor took us under his wing and was very diligent, to an instructor who fell asleep in savasana after a ‘heavy’ night out. The worst was someone who couldn’t remember the (presumably, corporate) instructions and was following them on his phone!  The other problem with them is that many classes are scheduled on port days during excursions so it can be difficult to attend. The best gym instructors reschedule for before or after but that’s rare.

Funny but too bad about those classes. I prepaid and prebooked all my sea day yoga classes on Carnival last time. Maybe the schedule will be set closer to our HAL sailing date.
