This is the first time I've ever received any kind of payment from a priority distribution, so I'm actually shocked by how quickly I received anything.  I'm used to having to wait 3+ years to get the first penny.  I know a lot of people have claims that will take that long to get the next bit, but "finally" was the last thing in the world I thought when I cashed my check today...  Not that others aren't entitled to that feeling -- they absolutely are.

You are right... I'm honestly shocked I got a penny...  but it seems like a lifetime ago that the money was spent.

Got my check today too!  Finally.  

They have been canceling Norway cruises this year on the Virtuosa and I just had my Oct 2024 cruise cancelled on the Euribia- Northern Europe...  but I have plenty of time to regroup for that.  I'm also leary of cruise cancellations after losing money with Crystal when they folded...   also when a river cruise was canceled.  We ended up just using  our flights for land trips instead..  I would also be interested in knowing what insurance may do about flights in those cases.   I suspect they would not pay anything since most airlines will give a voucher for the value of the ticket good for 1 year from issue date (minus any cancellation fees).

We just got off of the Seaview in Genoa on the 16th... we had very good service in bars and restaurants- but I was disappointed to find that there was NO sparkling wine chilling in our cabin.  (no fruit bowl either but that appeared later).  

When we asked about the bubbly we were informed by our butler that we could choose it as our "mini-bar" choice for the week... so we ended up doing  that.

Another thing that disappointed me was the fuzzy math used for our OBC.  We had $500 Usd obc which amounted to about $445 after their exchange rate to euros...  which is pretty far off.

Thanks for posting this review. I've also seen some negative feedback on TripAdvisor and have been re-thinking my reservation. My husband and I are currently booked on this exact same itinerary in October - but in one of the large YC cabins so we won't feel so crowded or rushed (and be able to enjoy freestyle dining). The main reason we're reconsidering is due to the short duration of the port calls. After all that's the main reason we're going (not to hang out on a crowded ship). We may be better off picking a couple of the destinations we want to see the most and just doing a land trip.

I'm interested in booking an Eastern Med cruise on MSC's Preziosa in Oct 2014( Venice, Bari, Katakalon, Izmir,Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Venice).

Can any of you expert cruisers tell me if there are any advantages to a port or starboard cabin on this itinerary? I've read that port side is best when sailing out of Venice but am curious about any other pros/cons.
