  1. Hi folks! We are booked on the POA in April and have a pre-cruise stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach through NCL. Our stay includes a transfer to the ship.

Has anyone stayed here and done the transfer? I'm trying to figure out what time the shuttle leaves the hotel. Thanks in advance for any help!

  2. We have been enjoying really warm temps and sunny skies in Fairbanks for the past few weeks. I'm not sure when your cruise tour arrives in Fairbanks, but if it's anytime soon, then you should be able to enjoy the weather. Last July was warm as well and August had several uncharacteristic rainy days. We had snow toward the end of August. Since you are having a midnight sun tour, I'll assume your arriving sooner than August though. Let me know if you have other Fairbanks questions.

  3. We were on the Celebrity Solstice the first week of May and we turned around at about the 3/4 mark. I wish I could remember the mile marker for you, but it was one of the last large curves where the ship could actually turn around. You should have much less ice by the time you travel and we have been blessed with an earlier spring and summer in Alaska. I live in Fairbanks and this spring came earlier than most. Best of luck that you can see the glacier!

  4. We liked it. We sailed in suites each time and really enjoyed the breakfast at Cagneys. The two dining rooms served good dinners that kept us happy. I liked Moderno - but be prepared to eat too much! My husband loves Cagneys for dinner. Their filet and halibut were both very good. The shows were worth watching. I'm not sure if they change the shows based on location because we sailed in Europe on the Jade. We've been on the Spirit and thought the Jade was a touch nicer. Service was good all around.

  5. Has anyone had luck getting OBC or anything when your stateroom category price drops significantly after final payment? Our category dropped by $500. Trying to determine if it's worth the time contacting my TA. Thanks!

  6. Hi there!

We have grown dissatisfied with our current TA. Any advice on finding customer focused TA's? I've heard wonderful stories of TA's finding price drops and calling the customer - we have always had to be proactive and look at our sailing and call our TA, who would occasionally be successful in contacting the cruise line on our behalf.

I know we can't share business information in the forums, but I'd be happy to hear general advice or success stories :)

  7. Hi everyone!

We are booked in a suite guarantee with an assigned cabin already. The guarantee has dropped $100 per person. Will Celebrity honor the new price or make us rebook? I love our assigned room - aft S2 for an Alaskan cruise, so I don't really want to chance losing it. I asked our TA to look into it and get back to us on the price change and possible up sells. Just wondering about others' experiences in this situation. Thanks!

  8. Having lived in Bavaria for three years, Christmas market season is my favorite time to travel. Please avoid Nuremberg's market - there is very little authentic merchandise. If you have already seen the beautiful city, which I love, I wouldn't go to their market. Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest are probably my favorite markets outside of Germany. The cities are lovely and you can find some unique items to take home. In Germany I love the markets in Würzburg, Bremen, Berlin, Regensburg, Bamberg, and a few smaller villages if you are interested just let me know. Rothenburg o.d.T. is a beautiful city but the market is ok. If you've never been, it's a great city to visit and the market is just a plus.

  9. Pompeii is one of the best examples of true history I have ever seen. I would rate it with seeing the Acropolis in Athens, the Coliseum in Rome, and visiting Jerusalem. It is really easy to take a train from Naples directly to Pompeii (Scaavi is the stop if I remember). You'll save a lot, beat every other cruise tour, and can be back to Naples to enjoy pizza - which is very worthwhile, but not enough to miss Pompeii if you have to choose. Let me know if you have questions - happy to help!
