We rented a bungalow in the adult area, which is just past the "normal" area, in March. I would not do it again. It was far from the beach, and was very rocky in front of the bungalow. A lady in the Bungalow next to us fell on the rocks trying to make it to the beach. It was a pretty good walk to get food. There was a bar close by though. I do not remember what we paid, but I did not think it was worth it. It was very pretty though.

Starr run and diet pepsi. I just lived on those on the Mardi Gras.

Anyone know about lunch on Pride on Embarkation day?
Same as the Miracle.
-
I was just on the Sprit at the end of March. The smoker wants 5141, can just go up the elevators by the room and walk out to the smoking section on Lido. That's where most of the smokers go, since there is seating. Deck 3 has no seating.

We got them on deck 4, booked in peak Rona, $5K for 5 of us with a bunch of OBC.

I called Carnival yesterday, and the person that I talked to sounded quite sure that they would be sailing by our 9/26 sailing. We got a great deal on the aft wrap suite, and the joining balcony for the kids. Bucket list room, for a price that will never happen again, so I hope the pride is fired up.

We live in NEPA, so it's 2 hours to get to NYC. We have driven to New Orleans though (20 hrs), and are driving to Miami come February. Between the cost of 5 of us to fly, plus a family members issue, we just drive. I'm a Chiefs fan, and drove out to KC for the snow game against Denver this year.

We have all the apps. Thanks for your help. We have gotten good at estimating carbs, and basal rates. I was just wondering if Carnival had something for their food that was consistent across the cruise line.

My son is also a T1D. I have contacted guest services, filled out the medical forms, emailed maitre d's, and also consulted both TA's and PVP's regarding his medical condition. The bottom line is that there are no carb counts for foods in the DR. There are sugar free options for desserts. We have found the food on each ship to cause higher BG's than with food at home. Many restaurants, Carnival dining included, add sugar to their foods to make them more tasty. For example, adding sugar to red sauces or gravies. We have never had our server or anyone come out and consult with us on the menu or any food items. By the 2nd day, we had it down in terms of the higher sugar levels and treatment. Your room steward will provide a sharps container, free of charge. That's about it. But with all that said, we have enjoyed each cruise and remembered that there might be intense surges and drops as a result of high glycemic values to restaurant food. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks for the help. It is appreciated. I didn't think about the sugar additions to food. That will help. Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has come across anything that has the carb counts of the food? My daughter is a type 1 diabetic, and was wondering if there was something out there to help her out. We are leaving in February on the Horizon, which is the same ship she was diagnosed on. Just looking to see if I can make it easier on a 12 year old.
Thanks for any information.

I will be forever grateful to the infirmary staff on the Horizon. They saved my daughters life when she went into diabetic ketoacidosis on the ship. The care was exceptional. Never mind that my daughters ex-doctor misdiagnosed her type 1 diabetes.
She is happy and healthy because of the work of the staff on the ship. Don't be worried about the care if you happen to have the misfortune to end up there.

Bottled water does only come with cheers. I'm not a big drinker, and might only have a couple of adult beverages a day. We always get Cheers, it pays for itself with the specialty coffees, vitamin water, soda, bottled water, energy drinks, and alcohol. Plus I like knowing that it is paid for before I get on the ship. Makes me relax more.

This is our sailing also. I'm excited to see if we share similar experiences. We also can't wait for cheers to kick in!!!!

Do they still sell camel menthol? We are sailing the Horizon in 3 weeks.
thanks,

We are booked on a family harbor suite on the horizon in August, and I was wondering if we get priority embarkation? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Justin

Look for cabin 3132, or around there. It is just in from the lobby, and you can walk right past the excursions desk and go outside. That was our cabin last October, and I am a horrible, terrible smoker.

I would definitely recommend it. My son loves it, and have also taken our daughter, who loved it.
-
She can, but it will be $35 instead of $10. We have done this with my son, when he was 9 and 10.

Guy's Pig and Anchor is free for lunch, and has an al la carte menu for dinner. The Teppanyaki and Pig and Anchor menu is posted on John Heald's facebook page.

John Heald has been posting a lot of videos everyday on the Horizon. He went through a few staterooms a couple of days ago and is supposed to go through more tomorrow. Looks like a brilliant ship. We are booked in August in a family harbor suite, and we cannot wait.

Do you still get the perks in a Family Harbor Suite?
-
Embarkation day they just give out plain cheeseburgers. There are too many people to customize on embarkation day. The next day is when you get the pig patty, or ringer.
-
It’s the same. They are trying to link the name with the Italian restaurant.

I don't think it's just Alaska. We were on the Mardi Gras May 7th, and the whole group of friends we made on the ship all tested positive when we got off. It was my 2nd time getting it (got it on Labor day), but the rest of my family's first time getting it. It was really nothing more than a cold for us though, gone in about 3-4 days.
