  1. Bit of a specific question I'm afraid! My other half and I are planning our honeymoon for late September/early to mid-October 2019, and we'd love to include a cruise as part of it. I realise we may have left it a bit late, but does anyone have tips on the best way to book room 6305 on Royal Caribbean's Liberty, Freedom or Independence of the Seas? We've got a bit of a couples 'thing' with cows, so the Ben and Jerry Sweet would be perfect to incorporate into our honeymoon if we can.

I've heard it's a promenade view interior room when searching through room availability - can anyone confirm? Is the best way to just manually search through all of the sailings from these three ships for these dates, or would anyone recommend a specific way/ travel agent to use to check for availability? We don't mind too much where the sailing is/for how long, it's just the room would be a perfect fit.

    Thank you!

  2. I tried a short solo cruise on Norwegian Getaway when she had her launch cruises from Southampton last month. As both my first cruise and my first holiday alone, I did have several awkward singles moments, but for the most part I loved it :o

    Awkward moments included...

    • The hostess and chef at Teppiyaki repeatedly trying to get guests around our table to interact with each other [when there was a middle-aged couple who didn't want to chat, a couple of lads in their late 20s/early 30s who just wanted to do their own thing, and lil' old me looking awkward while trying to read an audio-book on my phone]
    • Trying to board by myself! No-one wanted to give me a boarding number, as they kept assuming I was part of another group (despite my repeated insistence that I wasn't)
    • Taking a tour around the upper decks by myself, I'm pretty sure a couple thought I was following them (I just happened to be going in the same direction)
    • Trying to get a table for breakfast in buffet restaurant. While I got there fairly early and managed to snag a table to myself, I kept getting evil looks group groups of three and four who didn't want to ask for the remaining seats at my table, instead opting for lurking and hoping I would leave

I did thoroughly enjoy going to shows, lectures and shops by myself. Staff were so friendly and helpful, and I felt a lot more confidant doing it all on my own compared to travelling with others ^_^

  3. A bit of a strange question, I know (I really hope I have this in the right forum!)

I have been looking at both solo and singles cruises, sailing from the UK and fly-to cruises. Unfortunately, the majority of the cruises I have managed to find are for very specific age ranges. I would say that over half of them are exclusively for over 40's, while the youngest age range I have been able to find is for the 25-35 age bracket.

I myself am 24, and I only have the one short solo cruise under my belt so far. Can anyone advise any good ships, operators, or places to look for singles cruises that would allow under 25's onboard? Or are solo cruises a more wise choice to opt for?

    Thank you so much :o
