  1. If I was going to try to drive you insane, I'd post a story about how I just booked the same cruise you're on and got the cabin next to yours and how happy I am that RCCL approved me bringing my 18 "assistance" cats and said they'd also open the wall between our balconies so the cats would have room to roam.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, assistance cats... LOLOLOL

  2. Does anyone know if Joel Mason is doing shows on RC? or what ship?

I went to his website, and found no updated calendar.

Also - RC Navigator compass from April 2015, shows he performed then, just wondering if anyone knows if he is a regular now??

I think he is wonderful, and would love to see him again,, hoping hes on my upcoming cruise.

thanks in advance if you have some information!

    happy Cruising.

  3. Just booked New Amsterdam. Wondering how they do the soda package?

Also, I'm taking my son and his woman, and they don't have passports. HAL tells me that since this is a closed "loop" cruise ( starting and ending in Ft Lauderdale, visiting Mexico ports) that they only need birth cert. and photo id.

I'm worried about this, can someone confirm this is ok?

    thank you

  4. you really need to check the weather the week before

    I've done several NE/Canada cruises in Sept/Oct

I've worn shorts sometimes, gloves and hat in Canada on another

It sucks that you can't pack way ahead of time for these types of cruises

I'm on the Splendor 9/20 cruise

Hoping for CLEAR weather, temperatures aren't as important as no rain/hurricanes!

Hi Sue.. I'm on your cruise.... our roll call is terrible... are you posting?

  5. I have been reading like crazy here, and thought I would just post my issues:

    1. Flying into LGA 10/26 (11am) Need hotel for 1 night (would like to stay in NY and do some kind of tour that includes admission to 9-11, and other NY sites)** need hotel that is clean and safe and Under $300 if possible.

    2. 10/27 need transportaion from NY hotel to Bayonne port for cruise.

    3. 11/3 need transportaion from port to EWR to fly home.

thanks in advance for all your information, CC is the best!!

  6. Flying into NY(LGA) on 10/26, would like a decent hotel in NY, but leaving the next day on a cruise out of bayonne NJ.

I have been to NY, but stayed at time square, and not looking for something in that area, but something safe. our plans will be to do a tour that includes the 9-11 Memorial if I can find a good one.

Would also love to know what kind of cost for transportation, to the port.

Any help woule be greatly appreciated.

    thank you,

  7. It isn't a bad neighborhood but it isn't an area that people go for walks in either. There is a great Irish bar called The Field about 1.5 miles west that has great entertainment and great (and even healthy if you want) food. Near there are Royal India and My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. These are all popular local places. The Rustic Inn is a fun crab house a few blocks away. Islamorada Fish Co is a few blocks away but the atmosphere is no better than Red Lobster or Olive Garden. Maybe you could get the Sheraton shuttle driver to transport you in the neighborhood. About 2 miles away in Oakwood Plaza is a multiplex cinema and Dave & Busters arcade.

thank you for your reply - I am wondering if I should change hotels.. closer to the beach

  8. Hi there - this thread is great.. I have read many posts - but still need some information please.

Flying into FtLauderdale the day after Thanksgiving, staying 2 nights at the Sheraton Airport/cruise port hotel (1825 Griffin Road,Dania) pre curise. I need to know if the area around the hotel is safe - and what is close by for restaurants and entertainment.

Any suggestions would be helpful - thank you all in advance :)
