  1. Question for Nurse Kate or anybody that sailed the Breeze or Carnival. We called Carnival and they mentioned that the port time and ship time has no difference for this port and Curacao. Just wanted to get some feedback on how long it took for most to disembark. We are sailing in earlly March and are scheduled to be at port @ 8:00 a.m. This is important to us as we have a tour booked @ 8:30 so hopefully this gives us enough time to get out. Please share your experience.

    Thanks.

  2. Question for ArubaLisa. We have contacted one of the local tour operators and wanted to see the Lourdes Grotto, the chapel, the bridge, the rock formation, the chique areas or beautiful areas of Aruba. A couple of beaches like Eagle, baby and Arashi beach and places where we can find Aruba signs to take pictures with. Will this all be possible in 2.5 hours of tour time. Not sure how big the Island is and how far each place is from one another. We dont plan on being at any one site for more than 5-10 mins to get good pictures.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks Isa65, we are on the carnival arriving March 5. I liked that pdf doc you had on another thread that shows the ships on the port but it was only till Feb. I tried changing the months but it didnt work. Can you please put that in your reply. Yes, I understand what you are saying about beaches. We arrive ship time 2 p.m. which maybe 3:00 p.m. local time. So, since we are limited with daylight time, we have narrowed our beach preference to either Seaquarium/Cabana, BlueBay, Cas Abou or Porto Marie. If we pick Seaquarium then is that still 15-20 mins away from port? if we only save 15 mins then I would rather go to Cas Abou as it looks the most gorgeous from the choices I have put down and has amenities I believe. Would that be a good choice? Car rental is also probably out if they close by 6:00. Plan is to spend time on the beach till about 5:30 and then go back to the ship and then come out later after we freshen up.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks Isa65. If I am Canadian would those debit cards be accepted. All it has is the Visa, Interac logo. If not then what do I do with the guilders change? Can I exchange before I go on the ship?

  5. Trying to find the best things to do @ this port. Isa65 can you comment on the best beach and the driving distance to each beach. The ones I've researched are Kenepa Beach, Playa Cas Abou beach and PortoMari Beach. Also, best means of transportation while there. I've read somewhere that Budget and Avis rent for about $35 to $45 a day so that seems better than renting a cab. What would you recommend for sight seeing. Saw pics of the caves but they seem ok esp. since you cannot take too many pics. What about Willemstad? Any recommendations would be helpful.

    thanks,

    John

  6. Hi:

Just back from a cruise on the Caribbean Princess (11/16 - 11/23) having stopped for the day in Aruba. We too had tried to use Bully, but he was unfortunately booked for the day. He referred us to Ivan who has a private taxi van. We arranged a 3 hour tour with him, at a flat rate of $40 per hour. I believe his van can hold 5 or 6 people. I'm certain that he would structure the tour to your specifications. We had a nice tour with him, and I would use him again on my next visit to Aruba.

You can contact him at ijgordijk@setarnet.aw, or 297-565-0856 (cell) Not sure of the country code for Aruba.

    Hope this helps.

    Ted

Hi Ted, I tried contacting bully too but unfortuately he is not available. He gave us Ivan's number and i have sent him an e.mail, waiting to hear back. Do you think 3 hrs is enough to see the highlights of the island? We are going to be in Aruba in March and have until 4 pm at the port. Also, if we are not able to book a private tour for 3 of us before we leave on the cruise, are we able to arrange a private tour upon arrival at the port? Thanks
