  1. Yes, the town of Frederiksted is right off the pier.  There is an awesome place to eat called Pollys.  There are a couple tables out front to eat, and the view is spectacular.  There are also places to eat inside, and out back.  There also is a place called turtles a little ways down.  It might be a little of a walk, but the view is amazing and the food is awesome.  Deli sandwiches, but 1 is enough for 2.  On cruise ship days, there are local vendors that have awesome wares.  We were just there for 11 days, and unfortunately there was not a cruise ship, and so no vendors, but we have been there when there was.  There are a few shops, but not a lot, although the ones there are awesome.  If you take a left off the pier, there is rhythms at rainbow beach.  You can rent chairs and umbrellas, and have lunch.  Again, amazing food and the view.  You may want to take a taxi there though, as it’s a ways there.  Hope this helps.😊

  2. I highly recommend Thriller Ocean Tours. I did this two weeks ago and it was one of the best tours I have every done. $70 each. Pick up at dock, exciting boat ride, best snorkeling all day, equipment provided, safe even for people who are less strong swimmers, great people, and great rum punch and snacks!

You can see the turtles for cheaper with a tour from the beach. But they won't take you to the coral reef or other shipwrecks where there are no people. If you want snorkeling, this is your tour. Oh and there are only 12-15 people on the tour so definitely not crowded! If I was staying in Barbados, I would go every day with these people! The owner runs the tour so really cares about you and what your experience is! Stephen is a great guy!

    Enjoy!

We did a catamaran a few years ago, and although was nice, didn't get to spend enough time snorkeling and people were packed in from many boats. This sounds a lot better and my husband likes to dive, so this may hold his interest?

  3. We will be in Barbados in February and would also love to swim with turtles. We were there a few years ago, and although the catamaran was fun, we were taken to a place where there were many other boats, and hundreds were looking at 2 turtles. Would love to avoid that next time, so I would love others advice. Thank you.😊

  4. We were on the Glory in January and the water was not heated, but felt good after sitting out in the sun.:)

However, beware of blue in the pool. We think they might have painted it recently, as we had blue feet and on our arms. That was the only thing we could think of. Also all my sterling silver jewelry turned black. I have been in pools before with it on and have never had that happen. Thankfully after we got back home and had it all cleaned, it was good.

  5. We just got back and one of islands was st. Kitts. Was one of our favorite spots.

We took a $4.00 a piece cab ride to south friar bay, and went to ship wreck beach. Marlene was our taxi driver, and she was awesome and very informative. She took us to another beach first and told it was more expensive and not as laid back as the one she eventually took us to. So ship wreck it was. We were the first ones on the beach, so we got our choice on chairs. 2 chairs and a tiki roof were 10.00.

The people there were so friendly. They showed us where to swim and where to snorkel. The snorkeling was just a few feet from the beach, and once you got over the rocks, you swan along a reef. It was ones of the best places we snorkeled at. Saw many different things, and farther out there were plenty of sand dollars, which we even managed to get home unbroken, 2700 miles away.

Fantastic place to eat lunch as well. Buckets of beer were 15.00. Reasonable prices on food and drinks, and very big portions.

Marlene had given us her card and we had someone call her to pick us up when we were ready.

Hope this has been some help. We were a little nervous about this island, as we didn't have a clue, but it was a fantastic day.:p
