  1. Yep was 15 now gone up, to 20 the gentleman who runs The Boatyard has radio contact with his staff and his presence is quite calming, we get there pretty early to get 1st row loungers then if we’ve had enough jump in taxi back to terminal to shop or we’ve walked before and stopped of at the Marina to watch the boats bring in their catch, great chance to see Large fish [emoji476] in and out of the water seen a few dolphins [emoji227] trying to steal the daily catch. 2. Hi Sharon

Again I answered your post and forgot to hit submit. So I'll try again. I did get a suggestion from Dana (Deladane is her Cruise Critic name)- see above - I think on this page or the page before this about saving posts. I should follow it. Anyway, link to her review and she talks about the Boatyard.

They took a taxi and I think that there was only one other boat in port when they were there. I suggest that you do the same. Because we didn't get into port until 9am or so & were the last boat in & we walked we weren't there until at least 10:30. It was a more expensive entrance fee than Pirate's Cove & I don't think you got a lot more, unless you are interested in a snorkelling tour. So even if there isn't a seat on the beach at the Boatyard you can take a short walk next door.

  3. Many of us have lives that are "camp" like all year round. To want to get away from that on a cruise does NOT make one a child hater. My hope is that you could rethink your comment.

At one time there were very few children on board celeb ships, there still are few attractions for them as there are on Royal Carib. But now many say it is their line of choice when travelling as a family. Others have said that in order to keep financially sound Celeb has welcomed families, that if they stayed as primarily an adult line, it would really hurt their bottom line. I certainly understood that.

Now there are lines that are adult only. How is it that they can stay financially sound when they turn away such a huge demographic. You may say they charge much more for that choice. I have repeatedly said, we are paying much less per night than we would be lets say on a Silhoette Carib cruise mid winter.

So there must be demand for such choices. Besides Viking O is building 2 new ships every year. They have 6 now, 2 more coming in 2021, 2022.

I also realize, I am making a huge mistake here, divulging/sharing all this. Already their ships are sailing full, prices never go down only up. If we really like the experience, I should have kept it to myself. I have shot myself in the foot by revealing the treasure to many, who otherwise may not have known.

Were do you actually get off asking Critic Members to rethink their comments......

And flying your little flag for Viking ....they will have x amount by 2022....

13 pages in enough already....Adios, Wiedersehen, Arrivederci....

  4. This thread reminds me very much of the movie Midnight in Paris with Owen Wilson. We all miss “good Ol’ days” [emoji6] the reality is that everything changes- how many land restaurants offer true silver service now? How many hotels offer true butler service? Maybe we should try to work out whether the reason for our dislikes/complains is that we don’t want to accept changes or the service/ quality has declined too much. My DH and I are relatively new to cruising, and it’s good as we don’t compare with the bye gone days, we just evaluate whether things/services/food is good or not do good.

A newbie of 5 cruises [emoji568] takes me awhile to save from my nurses pay, so I appreciate every little thing, Caribbean for me at the minute is a must from our awful long British weather. Have converted my Sister and BIL, our next cruise Reflection which we love, again for the choice of speciality dinning, but had plenty of meals in the MDR, OVC, few of days but always found alternatives we booked Concierge for position OBC, and drinks package. I’m Elite thru marriage doesn’t mean anything to me. We priced up a lot of ships , and similar Itenary can’t be beaten.

  7. Was on the same cruise. The weather was bad those first few days but did get better. Did you run into the old man in the electric wheelchair who was wearing the red "Make America Great Again" hat along with the americans flags on his chair? My wife and I speak spanish when we do not want others to hear what we are talking about. The old man heard us and told us "mexicans" to speak english or go home. We just laughed at him and continued speaking spanish.

Ha yes he nearly ran in to my tipsy wife and tutted at her she mumbled something in broad Yorkshire swinging her stilettos passed his head

  8. OK. Then your opinion is noted. Please stop trying to convince people here that they shouldn't be looking forward to and enjoying their cruise with Celebrity. Please stop trying to make people feel as though they are ignorant of the fact that they aren't getting good value for their money. You cannot look to the past to compare. It is valid to compare services and determine value based on what is provided today, not two or more years ago. Negative posters frequently applaud changes they like, but complain bitterly about changes they don't like....yet they expect the price, value etc to stay the same. It makes no sense whatever. Please, find a line that is comfortable for you and post on their forum.

Hear hear, My wife's 1st Cruise was 2014 her 3rd is in 21 day, Myself have done over 18, love to see how excited my wife gets, can't tempt her away as yet, as have 2 more booked.
