  1. Well not only did I pay full fare, but as a single traveller I also paid 75% of another person's fare. The 1st gift we received was a canvas bag with QM2 World Voyage 2013 on it, if you put anything heavier than a leaflet or hair brush in it, the handle came off. I don't think they ever replaced them, but if you gave them to your steward, they came back newly stitched & strengthened. In 2010 we received a MUCH better bag which I still have to this day.

  2. They still give gifts to the full world cruisers but we really noticed a big difference in the frequency, quality & value of these gifts between 2010 & 2013. Looks like they're penny-pinching.

  3. I always mention it when I call Todd English to make the reservation, then take the voucher with me when I go. Only lunch is free, there is a small additional charge if you want to go to TE for dinner.

  4. I will disembarking in Brooklyn on 27 Aug. Does anyone know what time Diamond World Club members are likely to get off at? Also is there a Cunard shuttle into Manhattan? If so, would it be cheaper for 1 person travelling alone to take this & then a cab to the hotel or would it be better value to get a cab for the entire journey?

  5. I paid about £30k (that's about $50k in US money) for everything, though that was an obstructed view cabin on deck 8. So I presume you'd not have to pay that much more for an unobstructed view room. I don't drink alcohol so really the only expenses I had onboard were the shore excursions & those are included in the price above.

  6. I've done QM2's full world cruise twice on my own. There's always lots of people to talk to & you make new friends. However, I must admit at times, I did miss having people I 'really' knew with me. That said, I'd rather do it alone than with someone I didn't really want to be with. You won't pay a 100% supplement unless you're in the top grade cabins, I paid about 75% of the 2nd person's fare. Go for it :)

  7. I'm booked on 2 transatlantic crossings for Aug & Sep this year but something has come up & I'd like to change to an earlier date. I presume doing this would be considered as a cancellation & rebooking & I'd lose my deposit. Am I right? I once was allowed to change from the 2012 world cruise to the 2013 world cruise for a fee of £100 but I think that was a one-off.
