OK,  I am looking at the golf tournament cruise in October on the Anthem.  A little background.  I used to go quite a bit and was a decent golfer,  however I have not golfed much the last few years due to an injury but am well now. My question is... How serious is this tournament?  (don't want to embarrass myself but still want to have fun ). If I do this I am also going to take along a good friend who loves to golf (her home is on the golf course ) the offer includes entry for one.  Can I purchase an additional entry? Thanks for any information.

Mary, no need to worry, you don't have to be an experienced Golfer, it is a fun event. I never golfed and my husband had very little experience and everybody had a good time and plenty of good laughs. There are players that are good, others are average and others are just learning, the experienced players help other players, again, it's all for fun.

The first night CR has a Meet and Greet with drinks and hors d'oeuvres for the players which is normally held in the Music Hall on Anthem. There they assign people to teams of four.  Even though we've only played in the event once many years ago, we usually go to the Meet and Greet on the first night since as we have the Invite. We like to see the other players we've met over the years.

CR holds another event during the cruise and they give out some nice prizes for , e.g. the longest drive by a man and a woman, the best team score and other categories, the prizes are nice.

As far as purchasing another entry, previously it was only for the invited guest, don't know it things have changed. Nick and Barb will be on the same one in Oct.,  we like to go, but I can't commit at this time, maybe we'll see you and Rose onboard, if she's the friend you're talking about 🙂 you'll have a good time playing if you decide to book.

We just sailed Anthem in January in a JS and I could not make reservations for Coastal Kitchen in my cruise planner.  I tried a few times and it always said it was unavailable to book.  I was able to make reservations at Coastal Kitchen for the entire week once we boarded.

OP is leaving in May and I was able to make our CK reservations for a May 2019 Anthem sailing last year in July so it's possible they reached their quota for online CK bookings. Once onboard, reservations can be easily made at CK.

When I check on my club royale offers I see an offer for a Baseball Event, Join us onboard and receive two tickets to a Marlin's game post cruise.  It has several ships/dates and says $1000 off.  We are new to using Club Royale so if I click on Redeem Now will it just let me look and price things without actually having to commit to booking at this time or once you click Redeem Now it that your one time chance?  Also do they send offers in the mail or do you just have to keep checking this site for offers?

    Thanks for any help!

The sailings for the Baseball offer start in June and go through August. If you're interested in booking one of the 10 sailings, you would need to call CR at 888-561-2234, you will not get prices by clicking on the offer online. Offers do come in snail mail and emails. I would continue to check you CR offers on line as players have indicated they do not get all the emails or snail mail for CR offers. When you call, verify with CR that they have your correct email address.

My Wife and I have booked a cruise on the Anthem for the end of October.  We did not even think about Halloween being one of the days.  Is there anything we should be aware of?

We've been on the last few Anthem Halloween sailings. Both levels of the Music Hall are decorated into a Haunted House, well worth the wait, even if it's an hour or more. Also, starting at 10 pm, Two70 has music, dancing and a Costume Contest, prizes are given out. Quite a few hundred do get dressed up in costumes, it's a fun night for all, enjoy!

Last week, I received an email from Royal with the subject "You've already hit it big this year — here's an exclusive Casino Rate". There is a "exclusive" offer code in the email, which allegedly entitles me to save big.

Just curious...is this a true discount (aka a "casino rate"?), or similar to the "sales" that are offered all the time that are not really sales, just marketing spin? I'm guessing the latter since I spent very little time in the casino on my last voyage.

Your offer is real and it's not one of those "fake" Royal Caribbean sales. I've been in the Club for a long time and constantly get emails from Club Royale along with snail mail with special offers. Find a ship and a sail date that you like, do a mock booking to see what the cost will be and then give Club Royale a call and see what they have to offer you.

Hi, all. To those who experienced both, VIP and Deluxe Blue Lagoon trips. What is the difference between the two other then VIP being adults only? On my Cruise Planner VIP is currently $114 and Deluxe $77 ($37 difference, $74 for two people). Cruise Planner is barely functioning for me ( Black Friday?). Thank you.

The VIP area has an upgraded lunch, a lot less people, 2 areas for swimming, plenty of umbrellas, beach service for drinks for a fee and unlimited complimentary mimosas.

I have just booked an excursion to blue lagoon in Nassau and now I'm slightly concerned. How far from the ship is the little boat to board to go to the blue lagoon beach and is it safe there?

    Thanks in advance.

The boat to catch for Blue Lagoon is still in the gated area at the port. At the end of the cruise, that boat drops you off right near the gated entrance as you'll have to go through Security. That area is safe and you'll be fine, no need to worry as we've taken this excursion before.
Another nice excursion that we Iiked a little bit better was Pearl Island as they only take allow approx. 200 people on Pearl Island whereas on Blue Lagoon, they are hundreds and hundreds of people for that excursion. I tbooked the Blue Lagoon VIP excursion, which has 2 separate areas from the regular Blue Lagoon excursion for the beach and the VIP also gave you an upgraded lunch. Here's a few pictures from both excursions. If Pearl Island was booked, I would go back to Blue Lagoon.

We, too, plan to arrive before 10:30.

We are staying at the Intercontinental Times Square the night of the 28th...I am booking a car service to pick us up as there are 5 of us & the price is comparable to Lyft XL.

What time would you suggest we head out. I thought 8AM but someone said 9AM was plenty early. Not being super familiar with Long Island vs. Times Square to Bayonne, I'm not sure!

    THANKS!

From Times Square to Bayonne, without traffic is approx. 45 mins. There shouldn't be much traffic on Saturday. I think you'll be fine leaving at 9 am.

    Have a great cruise!!!

  9. We did the VIP Blue Lagoon and Pearl Island but not Balmoral. I prefer Pearl Island because of less people they accept on their small Island, approximately 200 guests. Blue Lagoon can handle hundreds and hundreds of guests.  Now if the Pearl Island excursion was sold out, I would have no problem going back to Blue Lagoon with the VIP package which has a separate swimming area and an upgraded lunch.

I have heard good things about Balmoral from friends that went there.

We sail early June 2019 and still do not have the shows listed on our ship's website.  Does anyone who sails in April or May on Anthem, to Bermuda, have the shows listed ?  Would you do a screen print and publish them on CC?  Thank you !

We're on Anthem in May and the 3 Production shows are not listed yet in our Cruise Planner. Give it some more time and just keep checking your Cruise Planner. If you already joined your Roll Call, usually someone will post when shows become available to book.  No reservations needed at all for the other Headline shows.

I  am not speaking of the pinnacle lunch at all. This is a separate function.

Merion Mom was correct regarding Anthem.

Anthem does have a Suite reception with Pinnacles on the second day at 11 am on each sailing in Vintages along with a separate luncheon for Pinnacle. I don't recall Harmony having a reception for Suite guests when we stayed in a GS in September on the President's cruise.
