Thanks, all of you! Will be staying at La Quinta Inn Airport East. Reasonable rate with AARP discount, smoking room, two double beds for the three of us. Free shuttle from airport and to Port of Miami. Everything I needed! Only one resturant with bad reviews in walking distance, but we can order out and the motel provides a free breakfast. Can't wait to get there, though the MIA sounds daunting. But then, I've never been in any airport. We layover in Atlanta and that one sounds scary to get around in, too. Sure hope we can find our plane and don't get left behind!

I'm getting mixed messages here. Has Nathan's equipment gone downhill to the point that you have to worry about being stranded? Is it safe for three women alone to roam the island on a cart? Thanks!

Is this offer via mail or phone call? Received a phone call about a free Carnival cruise with only a charge for port fees and taxes. I assumed it was a scam and hung up. Was I mistaken? I might shoot myself if I was!

Thanks so much for all the helpful info! Just love cruisers

Thank you, Bobby Mac. I have researched and read reviews, but for some reason, I trust the info on here from travelers who have been there more than anywhere else.

Need help locating an economical motel in Miami that is close to the airport, has smoking rooms, has free shuttle service from the airport and to the cruise port and is in a safe area with near by resterant within walking distance. Not asking for much, am I? Anyone know if this fantasy exists? Looking at La Quinta Airport Inn right now. Anyone know if the area is safe and anything about the motel? Thanks for responding! Why am I suspicious when I have found what I need?

Thanks for all the help, ya'll! Looking forward to a pleasant cruise. We are on the Panorama deck, so that works out well.

I don't want to be confined to my cabin because of smoking and I don't want to have to dash to my balcony every time the cravings set in in a serious way! It was so nice on the Pride that the smoking area was clearly marked, away from other tables that might be bothered by smoke and we could enjoy a cigarette after a meal there on the Lido.

Thank you so much, K2! Very through and helpful reply! I feel awful that nicotine controls so much of my actions and limits me, but that is just the way it is, so I deal with it.

I'm a risk-taker by nature, so I agree with Gingerwildcat. That said, I was deathly ill after a cruise to Mexico, so I guess I took one chance too many! Do whatever makes you comfortable.

Have a balcony cabin on the Panorama deck on the Conquest in Dec. Does the Panorama overlook the Lido at some point? Can't figure out how the same resturant is on both floors.
Would like to find a smoking area on the Lido so I can leave my balcony without having a nicotine fit. Anyone know where the smoking areas are on the Lido on the Conquest? Any others that are public? Thanks for the rescue!:):)
