  1. We are considering booking the Horizon in Nov and are looking at a balcony on deck 9 or 10.

Pros and Cons? What to avoid. We noticed on the deck plans that the IMAX theatre is below deck 9 midship. Is that an issue with sound? And the Pool is on deck 10 above us.

Help us pick a cabin, please.

  2. This is awesome!  That last photo of the couple in the matching suits, are my good friends.  They buy new matching suits for the first elegant night on every cruise! The second elegant night they dress more formally.  Its a vacation.  Enjoy dinner in MDR and the people watching

    delightfully tacky ships on sticks?

They are "delightfully tacky"  We love them.  We cruise with the same couple on most of our cruises and we make it a point to "win" them every cruise.

  4. I just looked at my booking, my sailing is the Miracle on 9/22.  Currently booked in a balcony on port side Deck 8.  The upgrade is for an Ocean Suite deck 6 for $452.  I'm passing, I don't think the price is that good. And we like being higher up and on the port side of the ship.  Now if we got an offer to upgrade for $200 bucks, we'd take it! lol

  5. My husband and I are booked on the Miracle with our friends who turn Platinum on the cruise.  We sail to Grand Cayman and Belize, which are both tender ports.  How does priority tender service work for Platinum guests? We are doing a non Carnival excursion in Grand Cayman, and I will get up super early to get my our tender tickets, but do our Platinum friends need to get tender tickets like everyone else?

  6. We did the fastcat turtle snorkel through the ship last year. Really nice catamaran boat, snorkeling with turtles just okay, then beach afterwards for 1+ hours, back to port. Good half day excursion.

when you get off at the beach, you have to walk in chest deep water to shore, same on way back. There was plenty of rum punch flowing though, so most people didn't care. Food was for sale on shore.

I noticed on the excursion page that it says there is weight maximum of 275 pp. My husband is 6'4 and about 350.

Did they enforce that, could you tell?

  7. Every cruise I've been on, I've HAD to do laundry, as the husband or kids run out of clothes, no matter how much I pack.

I leave and come back, but anyways circle back every 30 minutes

This cruise, I decided it's not worth my time and I'm doing the laundry svc. It's $15 a bag.

When I figure in the actual cost plus my time doing it myself, I'd rather spend 15 bux and enjoy my cruise vacation. The one caveat, I would only send "play" clothes and socks and underwear, as the laundry service washes in hot temp, all together.

  8. Just to add, if the person is over the age of 16 they do need an ID to accompany the birth certificate. Drivers license is fine.
Or if your teenager is over 16 and doesn't have a dr license, a state issued photo ID must be used with the birth certificate.

Our teens were 16 and 18, on our last cruise and neither have their dr license. We went and got them state ID cards.

  9. This made me LoL:'). I would never share a room with two teenage sons. It makes me want to jump of the ship just thinking about it:'). I still love them just not sharing a cabin.

Exactly! Now we book a balcony for us and an interior for them, at least 3 doors down, lol! That way we don't have to see how messy their cabin truly becomes. We tip their steward extra!

I really am not a huge fan of "wine", but I enjoy drinking this. I have never seen it offered onboard, but I have seen the Angry Orchard bottles... If I wanted to bring this as a carry on would they allow it, since it "looks" like a bottle of wine? I'm not sure what the difference between cider and wine is, so if this is a dumb question, sorry!

I just went to Angry Orchard website and the bottle says Apple Wine...so you are g2g!
