We were told that new  Winter menus are going active today on MSC ships.

It would be great  to have menus posted from all venues.

That’s great to hear. Hopefully someone currently on the ships in the Caribbean will be able to share soon.

  2. Does anyone have copies/images of the MDR lunch/dinner menus that they can share from the Meraviglia now that it has re-positioned to Port Canaveral? Thanks!!

Also - does anyone think it'd be nice to have a non YC dining menu thread pinned like there is for the YC menus?

  3. Has anyone stayed in one of the square interior rooms and split the beds? Please note -- I do not need photos of a regular interior or premium interior - I'm looking specifically for the SQUARE interior.

Every photo and video I can find online with the square interior room has the King bed. It looks like it'd be difficult to get to the closet if the bed was split so curious to see if anyone has ever done it? I'll be sailing solo and am considering splitting it so I can use one more as a sitting area.

    Thanks so much!

  4. Are you able to do self-debarkation (no checked bags - carry on/off only) and do you have TSA Pre Check?

If yes, I'd say you'll most likely be fine assuming there's no delays with the ship clearing customs to disembark. I'd recommend just taking a cab or Uber/Lyft and avoid shuttles, etc. For $100/pp with 4 people I personally would accept the risk and book the 11:10am flight.

I sailed back in September with my 9 year old. The ship was cleared to begin disembarkation at 7am. We were through security at MIA before 8am.

  5. I was just on the site checking for updated vaccine requirements and noticed there is no longer any mention of vaccines being required for children aged 5-12. I've looked and can't find any other official announcement or info on this. Knowing MSC's website issues I'm still afraid it's an error - but has anyone received anything directly from MSC to confirm this?

This would be exciting for us because we literally booked our December cruise the day before they announced they'd be requiring kids 5-12 be vaccinated and I've been holding out hope they'd revert back before I needed to cancel.

  6. There's no need to update the flex policy because the flex policy isn't intended to address this scenario.

MSC clearly states as part of the standard COVID-19 Assistance that they will issue a 100% refund or future CC for COVID-19 positive or quarantine:

Thus there is zero need for them to update the flex policy as the flex policy allows you to change/cancel for any reason and is not intended to address this specific scenario. Heck, before people were only tested at the port...should they have reduced it to flex up to the time of boarding?

I’m just learning I have to get this test for my cruise. Would you be able to tell me the cost?  I’m also confused on the three days or 72 hours. If my cruise is leaving September 26 when should I get this test.? I’d appreciate any answers!!!

Testing completed at CVS or Walgreens should be no cost to you. They will ask for your insurance information to bill insurance but the cost for you should be $0

  8. Absolutely fantastic review! Thank you!

In addition to all the great photos I really appreciate all of the high quality scans/PDFs of menus and daily schedules. I can't tell you the number of reviews I've seen on this site where people post totally unreadable copies of those.

It looks like you didn't have a chance to eat at one of the main dining rooms. Did you happen to still get a dinner menu from one of them?

  9. Putting this out for future reference for anyone searching here later:

I have already made final payment but still had no issue getting my cruise repriced with the 5% + 15% Voyages discount. The agent on the phone was helpful and had no issue doing it but I did have to specify that it was a 5% + 15% sailing, initially she was only going to re-price with the 5% discount.

If you are past final payment the fare difference is not refunded to you but becomes an On Board Credit and shows up as an 'amount due' on the Payment and Price Details screen of the Cruise Details tab.

  10. I just got mine after about 3.5 weeks. No email or notification from MSC - I just happened to see that I now have a number assigned to me when I log in and was matched Hilton Gold to MSC Gold.

Going to give it a day or so before calling to get cruise re-priced. I just don't feel like waiting on hold again today.

  11. I'm so glad I saw this. We were thinking of booking with the best package but now I think we'll be going with the better and choosing the classic beverage package and $300 OBC. Then we'll use the OBC to pay for our gratuities and to upgrade to the premium drink package. The unlimited internet would've been a nice perk but not worth the price jump from better to best.

  12. My wife needed a new passport as her current one was still in her maiden name. We submitted it without the rushed processing. Sent via regular mail but chose expedited shipping for it to be returned. We sent in the application, current passport with maiden name, and certified copy of our marriage certificate.

    Mailed: 11/21/14

    Delivered to processing center: 11/24/14

    Check cleared account: 11/26/14

    New passport arrived: 12/6/14

    So 2 week turnaround.

Still waiting on marriage certificate to be returned.

  13. I've loved all your past reviews and am looking forward to this one. My wife and I are hoping to book a last minute trip on her next month if our work schedules allow. It would be the first cruise for both of us. We would love some pictures of bar menus if possible. And which menus (Mojo, Saffron, etc.) are served in the MDR each night.

Whatever you do, we're both looking forward to your awesome photos.
