The food was amazing and lots of it. We ate in the Lido...make sure you check out both sides. I did not need long pants once during the cruise. I wore a light jacket once for about an hour. We were upgraded to a balcony room. We used the balcony a lot. Make sure you explore the ship...different stairs lead to different areas. The only excursion I booked was through the ship and it was to Mendenhall glacier.....well worth it for 40 dollars. Make sure you walk to the glacier.

Just returned from my first cruise on Holland America Volendam. I learned so much about the cruise as I was on the ship. Some of the things I was told by the travel agent were not accurate. If anyone has any questions about this particular ship I will gladly answer them.

I will be on the cruise at the end of June 2014. I have not seen any post about the temperature on the ship. Is it cool on the deck enough to wear a jacket? What about inside...sleeveless tops? Having a difficult time planning my clothes. Please help...thanks.

Is the drink package worth buying and how much is it?

From everything I have read about cruising, the attire should be resort casual. I intend to wear jeans...I have never been on a cruise before so I am not sure if jeans will be a problem. Feedback please.
