When the laundries closed, did they give passengers discount washing.
Some people on social media said they were given discount, others said it was free. I never sent clothes to be washed myself so can't say.

I'm not on this cruise, but will be onboard later this month. I read that Majestic Princess had closed the self-serve laundromat during a cruise in November. Does anyone know if it is still closed? It will make a big difference in our packing. Thanks.
I was on the Majestic cruise that ended today. The laundries re-opened during the cruise. Whether or not they are open for your cruise will depend on the number of cases on board.

A small coffee is 4.50, 5.00 for large. Cans of soft drink are 3.75. Mocktails are 8.00. Small glasses of smoothies and fruit juices are available free in the buffet at breakfast time, not sure about the rest of the day. Free basic coffee is always available. Don't know the price of fountain drinks sorry.

I've stayed at Bliss hotel twice. There's no pool, bar or restaurant but it was clean and comfortable. There's an entrance to Chinatown MRT right across the road in front of a large shopping centre where we went for breakfast. Reception called taxis for us and they pulled up right outside the door. Taxis are very reasonable in Singapore and it's not that far to the port from Chinatown.

We're on this cruise too and haven't received that email. Even checked junk folder.

Had a email from Princess today advising me that I could now book my excursions for the Coral in Feb 22.
Think I might wait.
Thoughts.
Cheers Carole
I got the same email for the Sapphire in March 22.
I won't be booking any excursions until cruising starts up again.

There are 16 Australian cruises listed for Feb 2021 and another 17 for March 2021. Maybe you were looking at the wrong year.

Last I heard from friends on board Vasco da Gama, no Corona onboard and they were having a good time.

This post is doing the rounds on social media but it's partly fake. Dean Koontz wrote about a virus called Wuhan-400 in The Eyes of Darkness, but the page above comes from the 2008 book “End Of Days: Predictions and prophecies about the end of the world” by Sylvia Browne.

Can I ask which trading platform you use to buy Carnival shares given they're not listed on the ASX? I trade through commsec and I don't think they offer the purchase of those particular shares.
I opened an international trading account with Commsec to buy the Carnival shares.

On the Sea last year hubs was paying $27.50 for Johnnie Walker red, I was paying $20.75 for coconut rum. Cheaper on board than on personalizer.

We currently have two cruises booked - one is US dollars onboard, the other is AU$. The prices of excursions for the Aus cruise are clearly marked as being in AU dollars, excursions on the other cruise are shown in US dollars (although I can't see that written anywhere on the page). If your cruise is the Japan one, you paid US dollars for the excursions and therefore got the conversion fee. Price for both OBC and gratuities is shown (and paid) in AU$ so no fees.

I hit 'Print Screen', opened 'Paint' program and pasted into that. Saved the file as a jpeg then printed it.

No, no freezer, but your steward will provide you with a bucket of ice every day if you ask him to.

I think that the fact the ship was returning to Australia is the key to the fact you didn't have to pay gratuities. We cruised from Sydney to Singapore on Diamond Princess and as it was a relocation cruise and that the Diamond was not returning to Australia, paid gratuities and paid in $US on board. Maybe the wording Aus Traveller used should have been if the ship returns to Australia instead of the cruise has to start and end in Australia/NZ.
Leigh
I really wasn't trying to be argumentative, I was just trying to point out that not every cruise that's in Australian dollars and with gratuities included starts and ends in Australia. But you're right Leigh, it's just the wording and your definition makes perfect sense.

That's the explanation. "It was returning to Perth". Your cruise wasn't a relocation. From what I have seen, relocation cruises are in US$ with gratuities.
But you said a cruise has to start AND end in Australia to have gratuities included. My cruise ended in Singapore. The following cruise returned to Australia.

Was it a relocation or was the ship continuing to be based in Australia?
It was returning to Perth.

The cruise has to start and finish in Australia to have the gratuities automatically included for Aust & NZ residents. If it is a re-location (for instance trans-Pacific), the currency is US$ and gratuities apply.
I've done a Princess cruise from Perth to Singapore (one way) and it was in Australian dollars with no gratuities added.

I thought for passengers other than Australians and New Zealanders, gratuities had to be paid on top of the fare on Princess cruises?
Leigh
That has always been my understanding as well.

We had 2 shore excursions cancelled on our recent cruise on Golden Princess. As a result our onboard account had a healthy credit balance at the end of the cruise. How long will it take for Princess to refund this amount to our credit card?
We got our cheque in the mail today. I would have preferred to have it returned to our credit card since that's how we paid for the excursion, but less than a month isn't too bad I guess.

A new pier has just recently opened in Yokohama (Shinko pier) so if you're going to pick a hotel that's within walking distance check first which pier your ship will dock at. There's a new Intercontinental hotel in the pier complex.

Just saw a 'Clean' deal in an email. 14 days Treasures of Asia 9 Dec 2019 on Sun Princess. Singapore to Fremantle from $995.

There's a small bottle shop at Circular Quay (jetty 3) called Mr Liquor. Not a big range but prices weren't bad. They have a website.

Thanks, I forgot to mention that one. I was originally going to book Adelaide to Melbourne but went for Melbourne to Adelaide instead.
Princess Shareholder question for Aussies
in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers

I panicked when I couldn't find my statement after the update, but finally got what I needed this way:
Go to Commsec, on the right of where it says International Shares click Launch Platform.
Under the Performance & Reports tab, click Statements. Click on Activity. Then either click View or Download pdf.
