1. So totally agree. When you consider that there was approximately 4,000 passengers on Magic, the % of CC members onboard, on average, is minuscule. Just look at the numbers on the roll call for various cruises. I've been on several roll calls for our cruises, and the average was 35-40 people. Had I been on Magic last week, I would've gotten on the Internet to communicate with family n friends via Facebook, and to get news via Twitter, then logged off.

There were many reporting live on Carnival Facebook and JH Facebook. These places seem the most popular as they are read by people who actually work for the cruise line.

  2. No, but, you can send your stateroom number to the brand ambassador two days before you sail on his Facebook page and he will send you a ship on a stick, chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne.

Makes you feel good that does it ?

  3. If the Carnival Vista is launching winter/early 2016, it would be unlikely for the Carnival Vista to do Mediterranean or Baltic cruises. Peak season for European cruises on a cruise line that has a target demographic of American guests would be during the summer months. As Carnival stated the reason they pulled out of Europe was due to the same demographic no longer being able to justify the airfare for a European cruise, the ships were no longer sailing full and the return on investment was not as high as they would have liked, due to cruise fares being heavily discounted.

If Carnival struggled so much during the summer months, even with there being no school, they would be unable to do the same during the winter.

Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway both had their inaugural cruises during the same time period as the expected launch for the Carnival Vista. Those two ships had an inaugural cruise of a Transatlantic, where they would be able to have the ships sailing full with high profit.

John Heald is Carnival's brand ambassador. He has a blog and a Facebook page where you can write to him and get a trophy and chocolate covered strawberries sent to your cabin. His information is not always the most reliable, but he has a rather large fan base. Sometimes his fans join in with him attacking his guests who reach out to him or to Guest Services onboard with feedback or complaints. In the service industry, even a ridiculous complaint is valid.

What Missconnections meant to say was that John heald is Carnival's senior cruise director and brand ambassador. he has a massive fan base with 55,000 likes on his facebook page and many thousands of comments each day. He helps hundreds of people with celebrations and some more serious requests and has a blog that has 18 million readers. He is helpful, kind and funny and Missconenctions like a few here are very jealous of that fact . His FB page is why so few come here now . Ask him about Europe and you will get the right answer. All you will get here is guess work. Good luck.

  4. I read on FB that they were waiting on a delivery. Something about parts for a A/C that wasn't working on the last cruise.

John Heald said " continuing to load fresh water ". Not air conditioning not working, where did you see that?

  5. Clearly you know nothing about Carnival's social media program. Drink up Alan. The Kool Aid's fine today.

No I don't know anything, except that John has 53,000 members and keeps them all entertained and helps them all and you think its not him. The Kool aid joke again, how can I ever stop laughing. You and Pine Bluff, made for each other and maybe are each other.

  6. No. Mischelle and Mary do that for him. JH has little control of that page other than his name being in the title. Do you really think that it's his personal page? Really?

you are so deluded. So you are saying that these ladies whoever they are write his page -and all the answers are not done by John? LOL LOL

  7. JH is a great CD. Had the pleasure of sailing with him, but you are exactly right. Not to mention besides his lies all he is good for is handing out free gifts to anyone under the sun to the masses for no reasons at all.

    Please list " his lies"

and he is good for much more , if only you new what he did for me and my family you would cringe with embarrassment.

  8. I am waiting to book the Breeze for June of 2015, but I heard the home port of Miami may be changing, and that's why the schedules and rates are not out yet. Is that correct? I sure hope not

John Heald just announced the Breeze remains in Miami for 2015/16

  9. I appreciate concierge floors in hotels, and love the separate pool areas onlines like NCL. Anyone trying to find a chair around a pool that is overrun by people claiming they would prefer that over a pool area set aside for guests in suites are being disingenuous. Carnival created this environment by having such small pool, pool areas, and number of pools.

Their ships of yore were so much less crowded, on ships 1/2 to 2/3rds smaller. There's a whole market they can attract.

I think you miss read the question. The OP asked what people loved about Carnival.

  10. Once again, they're offering refunds folks. Consider taking them. Putt putting along slowly will be bad enough going north and south, but across the pacific? Not good. Not to mention 5 days in Hawaii is not worth the passage time. Even 7 days was bare minimum.

Those that don't have ressies, look into these itineraries for some deep discounts. If you find them, take them!

Do you honestly think anyone pays any attention to anything you say knowing how much you dislike Carnival Cruise Lines and your ulterior motives:

  11.
I agree with you 100%. A recent story. I booked a specialty restaurant on my upcoming cruise for lunch on embarkation day. No problem, the cruise line canceled it because they needed it for a group. No problem, I got my refund plus, for my disappointment I got $100.00 OBC or basically a free dinner someplace else on the ship during the week. It sounds like I got more compensation for a broken reservation than you got for getting sewer water dropped on you. The story is different cruise lines understand the importance of customer service. I did not ask for anything, they gave it, and they basically, they gave a lot more than it was worth.

The bottom line is Carnival has an image problem, and they only make it worse.
90,000 passengers a week may disagree
  12. You probably want to sign up to get the free stuff and "invitations" to activities you may or may not wish to attend. The private stuff is nothing more than a bunch of people trying to get noticed. It's as if they are all trying to get baptized into an odd cult.

maybe you could hold a Cruise With Pine Bluff voyage for all your friends. I would think you could charter a row boat for that and sill have room left over.

  13.
Agreed, I'd have suggested the same had the OP not started out with a threat. I doubt John can do anything that would satisfy her.
you could be correct but at least he will make sure it gets to the people he calls beards and I know he will ask that they do all they can for the OP. But for her only, not then whole group which in my opinion is a ridiculous suggestion
  14.
No, he's not trolling. Many people on message boards, such as Cruise Critic, Flyertalk and DISboards don't believe in guest recovery and goodwill compensation. You should send an email to the CEO, Gerry Cahill, and let him know of the situation and share the video in as many places as you can. CNN loves anything negative involving Carnival Cruise Lines, so they'll enjoy it.

They should have given, at the minimum, a percentage off (25%) of your next cruise for your four family members.

    His email is: gcahill@carnival.com

You can also email Vicky Rey, VP of Guest Relations at vrey@carnival.com
I suggest you write to john heald on his facebook page, he gets things done!
