  1. We figured our cruise to Mexico would be cancelled and we have decided to take the FCC because we paid in gift cards. We are wanting to rebook for February that same itinerary but the cruise is now cheaper than what we paid for our June sailing. If the cruise credit is more than what the new booking is what do we do with the excess credit? Will we be able to use it on the ship, would we lose it, or can the remainder go towards a second booking for even later? Any help would be great. It's too hard to reach agents right now with all this just transpiring.

    Thanks

  2. My family and I are booked to sail the meraviglia out of Miami next February. I am wondering if anyone knows the American prices for the activities that are offered on board such as the xd cinema, flight simulator, etc? I am trying to decide if it’s worth it to buy a fun pass ahead of time.

    Thanks all

  3. I have a 4 day cruise booked for the Mariner of the Seas for this coming September. We have always done 5-7 day cruises. I am worried with, what looks like so much to do on the ship, that we won't get to enjoy all the amenities it has to offer. Has anyone ever done a back to back on the Mariner? Do you recommend booking a 3 day so we have the whole week for the ship? If we did book the additional three days as a back to back would the menus and shows be the same as the 4 day cruise?

    Thanks

  4. So my family is booked on the Mariner of the seas for September 23rd. I heard on the radio today as I was going to work that this cruise is hosting a radio show package for our dates. Has anyone been on a cruise before that has been group booked by a large crowd? Does anyone know if this impacts the other guests? I don’t want typical shows or activities that would be on a normal cruise to be restricted because they have special programs going on because of this special event. If anyone could give me some insight it would be great.

  5. If you didn't already know, Carnival has ordered two mega ships, 5,200 guest capacity, and 180,000 tons, set to be delivered in 2020. What would you like to see on it? Please do not come here to tell us how much you hate mega ships.

    Here are some of mine:

1.) Upgraded pool - I would love to see a really nice pool like you would see at an upscale resort. Maybe even one with a grotto, or waterfall. The current pools are generally underwhelming.

2.) A "Central Park" - While I have not yet been on an Oasis class ship, I think it could be a nice addition for something similar on Carnival. I would love to see it topical themed. Maybe a tropical straw market with palm trees?

3.) More shopping - Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for it to be a mall. Nor do I know what I would even want to see. However, Carnival has already talked about partnering with more companies for more shopping options. It might be a nice way for them to capture additional revenue without having to really "force" anything on anyone. I wouldn't be mad either with expanded apparel options.

I love mega ships. I would like to see more pools like on the oasis class ships. I feel like oasis class ships choice of pools leads to less crowding. I feel carnival doesn’t give the guests enough pool space. Some more pay to dine choices would be good too. Also bumper cars or something like that for the kids.

  6. In least than 50 days we are doing a quick trip on Horizon since it is cruising to Bermuda one of my favorite ports and leaving out on Ny close to home.

I’m sailing on the horizon in September but we did harmony last year. We loved the harmony. Overall we have been happy with oasis class ships. Our last carnival was on the sunshine which was one of my least favorite cruises. I am hoping the horizon is awesome. The kids never ran out of things to do, the shows were great and the food was awesome. We did a few of the pay to dine restaurants and totally loved them.

  7. So we are booking the MSc Meraviglia for February 2020 and booking a balcony Bella category. On deck 8 are the balconies obstructed views because of the life boats? If so how bad? We are currently holding cabins on deck 12 but deck 8 has some larger balconies showing as available and if the views aren’t bad I’d like to have the bigger balcony. Any insight would be great.

    Thanks

  8. Sorry I’m sure this has probably been answered somewhere but I just can’t find it. Anyway we sailed the seaside once and now thinking about booking again. We are either thinking of the two bedroom deluxe suite with Aurea experience or the deluxe suite in the yacht club. Right now drinks are free anyway which ever way we go. We are leaning towards the two bedrooms because of its size and we have 5 traveling but might be willing to go to the yacht club for a bit more. First question is what type of drink package do you get. It says unlimited in the yacht club bars and lounges but what about in the other areas of the ship? If you can get drinks in the other part of the ship are they premium ones or would we have to upgrade for that package? Will there be other kids in the yacht club areas or do you not find a lot of kids in that area? What else about yacht club did you find that made it worth it to you? We are looking at about a $400 difference between the two rooms so dollars for dollars it doesn’t seem to matter much either way. We just want to make sure we are not missing out on something really cool if we don’t book the yacht club.

  9. I was just onboard Seaside last month. I only asked about the kid's menu in Butcher's Cut. They did have one. See the attached PDF.

Thank you for posting. That’s steep for a regular kids menu.

  10. For those of you who have dined at the specialty restaurants on the seaside do you know if they have a kids menu? I see one listed on the speciality menus for the hibachi but no where else. Ocean cat and butchers cut prices are too high for me to order off the regular menu for the kids. I know in other cruise lines there is a kids menu with much cheaper rates.

  11. This is a little off topic but is about the walls. I've read conflicting info about which direction you can walk on the walls. I read on CC forum that it's counter-clockwise only, but the Rough Guide says clockwise. I would greatly appreciate further information so I can better plan our short day there. Thank you!!!

We walked the wall two years ago and from what I remember it was clockwise. Either way it is amazing and one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Enjoy.

  12. i was wondering, can I just buy onboard credit for my kids to limit their spending and remove them from my CC? Not sure they will know when to quit if they go to the arcade.

We block our kids cards and have them make their purchases through us. We heard a horror story from a customer service person on one of our cruises. Apparently some parents let their 3 kids run wild and they ran up over $8000 in arcade charges. I don’t think my kids would do that but I’d rather not tempt fate. It really hasn’t been too much of an inconvenience to do it that way if anything it forces them to spend time with us when they want to do some arcade games.

  13. Ok, so despite having cruise for many years, I never did go to a spa. I'll be going on the MSC Seaside ship solo and I am willing to try it out. But I have no clue what to look for. All I want is a nice massage. I workout 4-5 times a week, so my back is at a point where it's a little tense and a massage is badly needed. What package do you all recommend???

On the website, they list three things that I think answers what I need.

    1) Relaxing Touch X 2 (can this be for 1 person?)

    2) Relaxing Wave

    3) Relaxing Wave X 2 (Same question as #1)

Also, I'll be staying on port days, am I better off not booking advance as they may offer big discounts on port days??? Also, once I go for spa booking, do I have to bring anything or is everything provided for?

I know it's alot of questions at once, but as I have no clue what package to look for, I am hoping a few cruise veterans here can guide me to the right decision.

I haven’t been yet but I am booked for the seaside for March 30th and booked the relaxing wave. To me it seemed like a steal since with the relaxing wave you have access to the thermal spa for the week.
