How about the casino funplay money?

Last I remember I went to the desk and they handed me cash for my funplay amount.

When cruising stopped last year some were still doing cash for Funplay, however the hosts told me that they are converting all ships to do Funplay/Funchips only.  Who knows after that long what they are doing.

  2. OMG yes I am having same issue.  I can only see "enhance cruise".  My DW had no issues and she can see everything so we will have to do with that until this fix it.

I am sure you get into that LOOP where you hit login, fill out the little form, then click on the link from your email.  It shows yoru name then on the Website but if you click on your name instead of seeing "Profile, Settings, etc" it just says LOG ON.  Guess what the process repeats itself.

I have put in mutliple tickets.  Fun fact if you call MSC they have option 4 which is for Website issues but you always get a reserverations agent.  They cannot be reached by phone.  I kindly asked why the option was there.

I do hope it gets fixed, I know I am not the only one so we will just wait and see when they can get it corrected.

  3. I haven't been impressed with the bounce back and other casino offers I've received from Carnival this year, so I haven't booked a Carnival cruise this year. I've only booked HAL casino offers because they've been much more worthwhile. The past few years I've received several Carnival free inside cabin casino offers and I've taken advantage of them. Today for the first time this year I received an email from Carnival's Player's Club for a free inside cabin and there were 21 ships/sail dates available in the email. I looked online at my Carnival VIFP offers and the offer did not show there, so I called the toll-free number provided in the email immediately to book and the cruise I had picked was already gone, but I was able to book the only alternative from the same port. I booked August Dream from NOLA for $122 in taxes/port.

What was different about this free casino cabin offer is that the offer did not show I could call my PVP to book, but only listed an 800 number to call and book. The booking confirmation I received in email shows the "Booked By" listed as "Carnival Player's Club." My previous casino offers allowed me to book through my PVP and I've never seen the player's club listed as the "booked by" in the past. One other difference I noticed is that even though I was given a cabin assignment on the phone, the rep told me my luggage tags and boarding pass will not be available until the week of sailing.

I'm left wondering if there is a new system in place for casino offers, especially for casino offers other than the premier offers (which I always seem to have available online) and which I can see online today. Maybe the freebies are being offered differently now??

Anyone else receive this offer today or noticed changes to the free casino cabin offers?

I will actually try and answer your question. In the last 6-8 months Carnival has been sending out email only invites that will NOT show up on your VIFP. You have to call the number and they will call you back and get you booked. I went on one in March on the Miracle and it took a few days to get a call back but I did from casino bookings and they booked me right over the phone. I do think they were trying some different things. All of the BB's I have gotten this year have be crap quite frankly. Hopefully tomorrow when the new club is launched we will know more about the future.

  4. I believe that NO will get one of the Vista class ships in 2019/2020. Yes the Glory/Valor give them more Pax then Dream/Triumph but if they are so happy with NO and Galveston I would be surprised if they don't bring a Dream/Vista class ship back that at some point in the near future. Probably explains why some of the itineraries end in early 2019. Would be nice if NO could support a 3rd ship like Galveston. It can be done with only 1 docking point if one did 6/8 rotation or 8/8/5.

    something to chew on.

  5. We have cruised with Carnival newbies twice so far.

Being Past Guests and Platinum, we booked the woman in my cabin and the man in my husband's cabin for each cruise. Upon embarkation, we all went to Guest Services. We asked for our S&S cards to be reprogrammed so the spouses could share cabins. The transaction took all of three minutes. My husband's obc credit was still on his S&S account after the switch.

That is awesome to hear and the exact situation. We are taking two adults for first cruise, assigning one to each of our rooms.. This is great to know.

  6. First of all at 10 am the ship will still be debarking guests. I just can not understand why people have to get to the terminal so early. We are Platinum and usually arrive between 12-1. They won't run out of burgers, there will still be plenty of liquor. The later boarding is much more relaxed. What are going to gain by being the first on board? Our last 2 cruises were B2B and the computers were not reset until 11-11:15, so no food or liquor until they clear the previous trip. As Aaron Rogers says R-E-L-A-X

You have been cruising a long time. I used to be that guy that always arrived by 10-1030. The excitement was worth the extra wait and stress. NOW, I go later as you say it is much more relaxed and literally no wait time to get on.

So I do understand where they are coming from.

  7. My Wife had a free cruise booked. I now have booked a Premier Cruise on same sailing. We have asked two adult friends to join us. Has anyone been able to switch names after boarding to include S&S account? Or at least switch it so two people don't have to carry around 2 cards, one for room and one for your folio?

I know some of you out there have experience with this, please advise or tell me what you did.

    Thanks!!!

  8. For 12.50 i will go at home. We don't go on a cruise to go to an over priced movie.

Where I live here in florida its 14-18 dollars depending on the type of showing. So 12.50 seems reasonable not to mention they run same movies in the theater.

  9. We are in the same boat, turning Platinum on last day of our next cruise. We board Saturday so will know first hand very soon. We really hope this is the case

Check your boarding documents. I will be turning platinum even though I reach 75 on the 5th day. My boarding pass now says platinum.

  10. You don't need any cash as your gratuities charged to your Sail and Sign cover the following:

Here is the breakdown, per day:

Housekeeping Team: $4.05 ($5.05 for suites)

    Dining Team: $6.40

    Alternative Services: $2.50

Any drinks/beverages you purchase will automatically have a 15% gratuity added. They still have a line for an additonal tip.

Definitely bring a few bucks for your porter.

You will get many varied opinions on tipping, I personally at times give my Steward an extra tip at the end of the cruise. I have seen people do that for MDR, a favorite bar tender or Lido Buffet worker. I know how hard these people work and when I find someone that is above and beyond I give extra.

So cash is not needed but not bad to have around just in case.

  11. I see you received the same CC response I did when I complained that they had pulled the Magic out without telling me and rescheduled me on the Breeze a week later also without any notification. When I called them to check on it all I got was a sales pitch to move over but nothing else. I had to cancel since my schedule was not flexible at that time but they persisted in doing everything to keep the booking. After some time of discussion they did finally agree to return my deposit. So welcome to the "warm" responses when you dare to complain about them on this board.

LOL, Welcome to CC, I would expect no less.

My response is probably to the same point essentially and that is as a business you want to keep all of your customers coming back, without you they are out of business. They did not plan for a ship to have issues and they have tried to rectify them feverishly. I am sure this decision came after a multitude of COAs were looked at. The felt this decision would come with the least amount of anguish. Really this decision affected the cruise length of ONE cruise and there are a few cabins that will have issues as the ships are sisters but not exactly identical in cabins. The alternative is the continue to shorten or change itineraries out of Galveston for the unforeseen future until they can fix the issues permanently.

It WOULD suck to lose out on a day. For sure but make the best of whats left or like others have said in a different way; There are many other cruise lines to sail on.

  12. John Heald said a few weeks ago that is was going live on the Magic 1 oct but the most recent update they added other ships but not the magic. As said earlier about first time on a ship I am not looking forward to it working flawlessly even if it does go live.

I used on the Breeze and it was awesome and definitely worth the 5.00 chat fee for the whole cruise. I also believe if you don't want the chat option that using the app is completely free for the week. Correct me if I am wrong.

  13. I want to bring a big bag of candy to a couple of people I know that are working on the ship I am getting on next week. I have never put any food in my carry on before so just wanted to make sure there isn't any restriction. I am assuming no but would hate to throw away a 20.00 bag of candy.

  14. I will be sailing 1 October and I will take a dull cruise over no cruise at all. Sorry it wasn't everything you expected. Hpefully I will fare better.. also I usually spend a LOT of time in the Red Frog. It sucks that Dream doesn't have one since I have been on her a few times but I still had a great time.

    Happy Cruising

  15. It disappeared from my sailing as well this morning, and we sail in 39 days. Here's hoping it comes back.

I found that strange too. First cruise I have taken where it wasn't even listed. Just home port advisory. I check a lot and see the sold out a lot but last couple of weeks it doesn't even show (Oct 1, Magic).

  16. Who did I "slam"? Seriously, show me in my post where I slammed someone? I do think the "FTTF CRAZIES" are a bit scary in that some people claim they will cancel a cruise if they don't secure it. Do you consider that "slamming"?

I don't think slamming is the right word. People are sensitive. More so for me I find that a reply that doesn't address the OP question is senseless and some people are tired of seeing those types of responses in virtually every thread. Its the name of the game and you are entitled to your opinion. Most just move on from a response like yours and take it for what it is worth to them. Others feel like responding and in some cases that is just taking the bait.

    Happy Cruising

  17. If you offer says fun chips then they are just chips. When they say casino cash it is just that. You go to the cashier, they look you up on a roster and you sign for the green. Premier/Ultra are always cash from my knowledge. The Carnival Select offers they have can have "fun chips" which are promo chips.

  18. I sailed on the Dream July 3-10 on the key west Itinerary and our ports were not changed but granted it is the shortest itinerary. Also they extended our Freeport stay form 8-4 to 8-7 (ugh right) so they could do some maintenance. Rumor was it was the thrusters but definitely not confirmed.

We also had an 11 hour port in Nassau for Carnival Live (trace adkins). I would guess if you are on the Key West itinerary it is not an issue but if you are going down to Roatan you will see a change until it is corrected.
