  1. We were on the Koningsdam in April-May and were delighted not to have fellow passengers mauling the food on the buffet. While there were often a shortage of seats at breakfast, the food was excellent and lunch was never packed. As a nursing professional I also loved the hand washing station. Unfortunately while it was well used at the beginning of the cruise, by midpoint I think my family was the only ones using it. While inconvenient not to have trays, I have seen info that they are often not really clean. Hats off to HA for all they are doing to keep everyone healthy.

  2. We were also on this Rome to Rome cruise and enjoyed every minute. It is a beautiful ship and with the usual fantastic crew. We agree with posters that the music area for the Lincoln Center Live needs to be a bit more private. This excellent venue was often overwhelmed with the chatter from the bar area opposite. Loved the shows and the high tech screens that complimented the shows.

Also LOVED the handwashing stations although by the second week I think DH, DD and I were the only ones using them. ALSO while everyone is so concerned about Norovirus, would someone please tell passengers to cover their coughs and sneezes! The Lincoln Center area sounded like a TB ward with one participant sipping Robitussin during the show so I am going to assume there was a large contingent with upper respiratory virus. However, we all came home with a similar upper respiratory virus after we were showered by a fellow passenger who sneezed in the elevator and never covered that sneeze! Those free wheeling coughs and sneezes are just as dangerous as unwashed hands.

  3. Has anyone been able to re-claim Mariner stars from a long time ago? We sailed on HA on the old Veendam to Bermuda in 1982 and on the old Nieuw Amsterdam in 1983 on one of it's "shake out" cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean. We had stars for those trips and even got the Mariner magazine for a while...still have the dutch caps and hats they used to give out on "Dutch Nite" in the MDR. We sailed in the Med on the Eurodam in 2014 and are scheduled for the Konigsdam on April 27. HA said only with the boarding passes...but they are long gone...any passenger lists????
