  1. We took DD at 8 months on a 5 day cruise and everyone had a great time. It seemed the entire crew and fellow cruisers knew her by the second day.

On the topic of clothes,  We brought a few sleepers, onies for the day time and nicer outfits for dinner. I packed outfits in plastic baggies then just had another bag with extras that we could pull from if needed.

She had her own suitcase which we were able to get all of her supplies as well as clothes in it. I also brought her Pack n Play from home. I did buy a duffle bag that it would fit into so I could put it on my back to get off the ship with self assist.

I agree with horsegal and wearing the baby is the way to go,  but we also asked a friend for a caddy for her infant car seat and used that as a stroller. We thought that she would be familiar with it plus if we wanted to get into a cab she had her car seat.

We also brought a shoe organizer to organize all of DD's stuff. It was nice to reach in and grab what we needed.

For us, the dining room was too long. We tried but the hour and a half was too much for our DD.

  2. Any recommendations? My thoughts were we would get off the ship and walk to Junkanoo beach for a little while.  Then we would find a restaurant for lunch on the way back to the ship.

We are trying to do something relatively inexpensive and near the ship, in case we needed to go back for any reason for DD.

I am open to other suggestions as well as places to eat lunch at. We will also have her car seat if we need to taxi somewhere.

  3. We are cruising next week with DD who is 9 months. As we plan to get her stuff packed up I was wondering if you all have left your baby items ( extra diapers, wipes, food etc.) with the porters or brought it on as carry on. I know we are allowed to bring on baby supplies but do you just let the security know that you have baby food/items inside?  I have never had a lost bag or a bag that has shown up really late while on a cruise. Of course, I will have the essentials with me. We are also going to bring our own pack N play but I was planning on leaving it with the porters.

Also, We plan on bringing our car seat and using the caddy as a stroller. Does anyone know if I will have to take her out of her car seat when we get back on the boat in out ports to go through security?

Please let me know if anyone has any other tips. As I am sure I will post a few more questions within the next week.

  4. Any suggestions? We have never been to Atlantis. I did read the pools were heated at Atlantis so that's an option if it was a cool day. We will be traveling with a 9 month old. Nassau has never really been my favorite port but we don't want to stay on the ship. Let me know what you think.

  5. We are cruising to St. Thomas and looked about taking one of the safari style trucks to the beach. Do they allow babies? Of course you could not put a car seat in the back of the truck, but was wondering what others have done. Or would we need to bring a car seat and take a normal taxi. We also have stops in San Juan and I know if we want to go out side of Old San Juan we would need a car seat. I am not worried about Grand Turk or Amber Cove as we will not leave the port.

  6. Looking to take a cruise out of Port Canaveral next year with our one-year-old and was wondering which ship to take. The Breeze and the Harmony both have similar7-day itineraries with the Breeze having one more port day. Prices are similar but the Harmony is a little more expensive on a balcony cabin. Please just let me know what your thoughts are. We have cruise both cruise lines but it has been about 5 years since our last time on Carnival or Royal.

  7. We have cruise several times on different cruise lines but we have a child now and are looking to cruise when she is around 1 year old. I have been reading all about taking a one year old on a cruise and we are excited to share the experience with our DD. I have three different options that we have talked about and wanted to see what yall thought.

Option 1- 7 days on Carnival Breeze with 2 sea days ( Like the extra port day)

Option 2- 7 days on RCCL Harmony of the Seas 3 sea days ( worried about size of ship and extra sea day, Excited about splash pad for DD.)

Option 3 - 5 days on Carnival Sunshine ( Short first cruise, port is near home)

Do all ships have an area in the nursery for parent to bring and stay with their child since she will be under 3?

Please feel free to add thoughts especially if you have been on one of these ships with a 1 year old. We are looking what is best for our DD.

  8. I was wanted to go snorkeling the last morning of our 3 day stop in Bermuda. I saw NCL offers three tours but was wanting some information on other tours or groups so I did not have to book thought NCL. Or should I book though NCL. I did like the Shipwreck & Coral Reef Snorkel Combo because it said kids must be older than 12.

    Thanks,

  9. I just booked a cruise to Bermuda for this summer but I know nothing about ncl. I have sailed carnival and royal but never ncl. I will be on the breakaway out of nyc. What all Is the import stuff that I need to know about ncl and breakaway?

Do they have soap and shampoo in shower?

Do you have to make reservations for all shows? What about dinner? Don't plan on eating at speciality dinning.

What drinks are available at buffet? Juice, lemon aid?

    24 hour free ice cream?

    Pizza?

Overall is ncl comparable to other cruise lines? Excluding freestyle dinning?

    Thanks for your help!

  10. I just booked a last minute cruise to Bermuda and have never been before. I have a few questions on what to do and how ( grouping things together)

    My thoughts

go to st.george sounds like several things to do in kings square. Maybe head to tobacco bay and the old fort. Then we thought about heading to the caves. From there maybe head back to the ship or go to Hamilton.

Next day would like to beach it all day. Thought about horseshoe or elbow. I just want a chair and maybe a spot to snorkel.

Last day I thought about staying around the ship.

I did think about buy a two bus/ferry pass

Please any thoughts and suggestions would be great
