  1. CabinWe roomed in a balcony B2 Category on the 12th deck mid ship. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. I felt absolutely no swells at all and slept like a newborn baby. Having the luxury of gazing out of my balcony every day to a new European Riviera location was a dream come true. The room was bright, tastefully decorated and roomy to accommodate my husband and myself, and even the little visitor comfortably. ;0) One of the things I appreciated about the cabin on MSC is that your biggest luggage could fit comfortably under the bed, freeing up your closet space, for what it is meant for, all of your cruise outfits and shoes.

    Entertainment

MSC has some of the best shows, I have had the pleasure of viewing. I undoubtedly loved the theoretical performances that often only included music and sometimes were not in my native tongue of English. They were all quite enjoyable and elevated my cruise experience. I thought the pirate show was very well done, and the Michael Jackson show was awesome! This impersonator much have trained under the king of pop himself, he was so good. My family and I also attended a trivia event during our time aboard and a family dance party. To be honest, the ports were so amazing, we were all so exhausted by the time we returned to the ship, I can’t in good conscience review them appropriately on the quality of their on board entertainment.

  2. I'm sorry I am so late on this trip report. But here is part one:

I just returned from an amazing 11 days in the Western Mediterranean. My family and I sailed the Italian, French and Spanish Riviera on board the MSC Divina from June 12-22, 2015. This is my trip review.

On June 12, my husband, 11-year-old daughter, my sister and myself were picked up in Philadelphia for our flight to JFK airport in the afternoon. We flew courtesy of Alitalia, an Italian branded aircraft, which is by far the best airline experience I have had in quite some time. We were served a snack, a delicious dinner and breakfast during our 10-hour flight. Wide selections of newly released movies were made available for free for my viewing pleasure. Free music and games were also apart of the amenities provided. I must say, after tasting the airline created pasta, which was delicious by the way, I was so excited about traveling to Italy.

We purchased the flight and cruise package from MSC, which included the air, transfers to and from the airport, cruise port and hotel, the cruise cabin and hotel for two nights. All in all I would give the experience a 3.5 out of 5 stars. The ship was absolutely beautiful. Very clean and well maintained. We had an amazing cabin steward named Kadek who ensured our room was clean and tidy almost magically and also created the cutest little towel animals. My daughter was supposed to room with her aunt, but frequently invited herself into our room for the night. There was a huge double bed sofa, that Kadek ensured was turned down and welcoming for the little princess daily.

  3. Hello All. Taking a page out of cruzin4fun2, I booked a shore excursion for Pompeii, Sorrento, and Positano with Joe Bananas Italy. There are four of us- 3 adults and an 11 yo girl. We would love for you to join us. We are currently at: 120 Euros a person but with more people we can go for a price as low as 70 or 80 Euros. If you are interested here is the link: https://italytoursharing.com/groups/.../232#create_ok Hope to see you there. Only 59 DAYS and counting to we arrive in Italy!!!!!

    Here's the Web Description

" Either me or my driver will wait for you outside of the cruise ship terminal of Naples, I'll stand there with the sign with your name on it.

While we drive by Naples I'll give you informations about the city of Naples.

Then we'll drive by the feet of the volcano (Mt Vesuvius) the guilty of Pompeii and many other villages, soon after we'll reach Pompeii where you are going to visit the ruins.

After your time in the ruins we’ll meet outside and we'll move to Sorrento, we stop right in the main square of Sorrento where you can have one hour or more to explore this wonderful town and have a snack or lunch on your own, obviously with the suggestions of your driver,

we'll find ourselves driving down-hill directly through Positano we will descend down the winding one-way road, bypassing many picturesque houses and shops, and arrive in the heart of the town, at Piazza "dei Mulini" is the last point where we can get by car ,we park our car and we walk downtown where all the streets leading to the waterfront are .

Here we can have about one hour or more to discover this beautiful village denominated "The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast"

Positano has beautiful things to see: the cathedral, shops selling ceramics, lemons, shoes and "Positano fashion”. After this wonderful visit we'll drive back to the ship. if we start our tour at 8.00/8.30am we'll be back at ship by 5.00/5.30pm.

  4. Of course they offer it, because there is a segment of the population who merely want to see a place and check it off their list. If that's your goal you can do this on your own; you'd have very little time in each location (a couple of hours, at most) but you could tell yourself that you've been there.

The process is the same, whether you are going to Florence, Pisa, or both. You need to get from your ship to La Spezia Centrale train station, where you purchase your ticket and get on the next train to your destination. The most direct route to Florence requires a change of trains at Pisa Centrale, so regardless of your final destination Pisa Centrale is likely your first stop.

Hi Eurocruiser and anyone else who has information about the train process from LaSpezia....Does anyone know if there are taxis waiting at night once the trains come in from Florence? I am on the June 13th MSC Divina Med Cruise and was thinking about leaving Florence at 6:30 putting me back in La Spezia at 9. I was curious if my family would have to walk back from the train late at night or if taxis are waiting at the train station for returning cruisers. We are in LaSpezia on a Sunday. It is actually Father's Day and we wanted to have dinner in Florence.

  5. Hello All. We are new to Celebrity. This will be our first time cruising other than Disney with our 10 year old. Last year we had a huge vacation in Maui and want to do a small cost effective vacation. Are the inside cabins roomy enough for three? Do they have a sofa bed or sofa twin bed for my 10 year. She is thin from being a competitive swimmer. I originally booked on RCCL but even the oceanview with balcony didn't have a sofa only a berth. Also, are there really any activities on this cruise for her? Thanks in advance for your replies!
