Could you recommend the items for Breakfast that are particularly good?  I do like the idea of having a breakfast special daily in addition to the regular menu.

My favorite is the minute steak. I asked for it on the day it was not on the menu but was told I could get it. Also the raisin bread is great. The stollen is substituted for it during the Holiday season.

  2. I did the CC meet and mingle on the Seaside the week of Sept 15. It was held in the Haven bar, and it was packed. At least 100 people.

We also attended that event for that sailing. Small dishes of appetizers were also served along with drinks and cake. One of the ship's performing groups also played music. All in all one of the nicer Cruise Critic Meet and Mingles. A negative for some attendees was the timing as the event was scheduled for 5:00pm and their dinner was for 5:15pm. Our dinner was 5:30 pm which was better.

So enjoyed the cruise;but lost a favorite ring in the cabin. So hoping that somehow it will be found!

  3. Yes, I know that it has been discussed - I was hoping that someone had cracked the code on how to get through :cool::cool:

Morgsmom, I noticed that MSC was having trouble with their website last night. Did you try to use the red call arrow on the website under the hours to call listing? Coincidentally while typing this message an ad for MSC was on TV with this # 1-833 MSC- Cruises to call.

  4. I was on hold for 40 minutes earlier (never got through) and another 30 minutes as of now (thought I could get through at the end of their day)... I'm trying to upgrade my drink package (hello, MSC, I want to give you more money), yet I can't get through.

Yes, I entered my Voyager's #... but that doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone have a better phone number to call to get an actual person!! Thanks in advance.

(PS - we sail Next Saturday so I'm trying to get this done)

Do not know which telephone # that you used; but here are 2: 1-877-665-4655 or 1-844-432-0758

hope this helps. We are on the same cruise

  5. Natalie,

Saw your post with your CC name, so had to read it. We were on a cruise with you and your parents on the Royal. You did a great job in organizing the M&G-even though you had to stand on a chair to be heard-ha.

We are booked on upcoming Princess cruises soon and have spent a lot of time on phone resolving issues with Princess. By chance did you contact customer service or speak to a representative that answered the phone?

Best of luck and hope to see you on another cruise.

    Pat

  6. Wow, nothing at all on the east coast, except one lonely 5-night "getaway" from NYC. The west coast has always had the advantage of shorter cruises and many have taken advantage to rack up segments and Circle status. One year a while back Princess had a ton of these and was giving away FCC for value of the cruise. Crazy deal. We couldn't use it at the time, but I think that one deal was responsible for ballooning up the number of Elites and Platinums.

OTOH, this year they are having trouble selling some of the shorter cruises out of FLL/PE. I suppose that is storm-related, but they will have made their decisions on itineraries before this past hurricane season. I guess they are hoping folks will go 7-nights or more (there aren't even any 6-nighters) next fall/winter season.

Used to be a good deal to put together a couple of B2B's and get extra credits. I guess we will just have to get to Elite the hard way... but enjoy the journey.

PS - Looks like lots of choices for Australia market. Sigh.

    Steelers36,

By any chance were you on the Caribbean Princess 10/7/17 sailing? I was watching the Steelers play the Chiefs on deck next to a fan from Canada.

Would love to hear about the South america cruise as I considered it.

  7. That sure beats snail mail, doesn't it??

Just saw this board and wanted to add that we receive the form by email from Princess, fill it out and scan it to send back via email to travel planner @ Princess who forwards it to the correct department.another option for those who do not have a fax or time to mail it before the cruise.

  8. We did not do a trans-Pacific but flew to Auckland as Houston had non-stop flights. In Auckland, we arranged with Kensington Tours to do a 10 day to the outback and Sydney. I think it was cheaper or close to what Princess wanted for a 5-day intensive pre-cruise. Our tour allowed for "rest" time between activities) and they customized it for us and we made quite a few changes as we went along (lol). All top tier hotels (huge breakfast buffets so you could fill up and get by with snacking for lunch by taking things back to your room which they didn't mind you doing, even provided us with "to go" boxes) and wonderful guides who went above and beyond including finding us reservations at a great restaurant on Valentines Day for dinner which was most reasonably priced. I cannot say enough how pleased we were with all facets that they arranged including our air between towns. We really didn't have to lift a finger as they had done it all. They were very easy to work with the whole time with prompt replies to our questions and dealing with our changes.

We ended in Sydney and caught the ship there that took us back to Auckland and our return flight home. We did all the land tours we could through Viator who, again were cheaper, plus smaller group, no extended "shopping opportunities" and guides who truly loved their territory and let you know it with their enthusiasm.

. A couple of times we went with Princess' tours due to time problems (ship docked later than the Viator tour started in Melbourne and none offered in one port) and they were well organized and good. I did hear, though, that one tour was suppose to go to one place and ended up at another due to miscommunication with the driver (lol). Another time, Princess wanted mega bucks for their Dunedin :(Port Chalmers) train tour through the gorges and we got the same tour for 1/3 of the price PLUS a tour of the town. Princess had a charter train (same tracks so you saw the same things) whereas we did not and Princess may have thrown in some food which ours did not but the difference in price more than covered whatever food they gave with a lot of change left in our pockets (lol)

Thank you so much!!!. Can you provide your email so I can correspond with a few more questions?

  9. Good to see the Wine Packages being advertised.

    IECalCruiser,

I see that you are planning the Transpacific cruise to Australia next year. We were thinking of this cruise. What are you planning on doing when you arrive if I may ask?. I want to go to Australia and New Zealand but unsure how to get there and see the most economically.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  10. Thank You for asking this question. We are also doing a Panama Canal cruise, and confused as well. Thank you for the responses. I think we will stay on the ship to experience the locks.

If we want to get off the ship in Cristobal, we can visit some shops. Hopefully there are some local vendors.

Noticed your question as we are scheduled for a cruise on the Caribbean Princess soon. We did the partial transit a few years ago before the new canal was completed. We did an excursion to Panama City that we did enjoy as we had never been in that area.
