http://www.tv-eh.com/2017/02/10/mighty-cruise-ships-sails-into-season-2-with-drama-and-extravagance/
Mighty Cruise Ships airs Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Discovery.
Pulling away from Discovery’s dock on Sunday is Season 2 of Mighty Cruise Ships, which aims to spotlight the most outrageous, expensive and exciting cruise ships sailing around the world. The first episode features a stunner: the Carnival Vista. The largest in the Carnival fleet, the ship cruises the Mediterranean with more than 4,600 passengers, and crew of 1,400 in almost 2,000 staterooms. There are 10 restaurants, a 140-metre long slide, IMAX theatre, brewery and—astoundingly—the first-ever suspended bike loop that allows guests to ride 46 metres above the sea. Carnival Vista truly is a small city on the sea, and that comes with positives and negatives.
Thank you for the info! We will be on the Vista Oct. 7th.
I recorded it & we watched it last nite on Smithsonian channel.
Very interesting behind the scenes stuff!

With St Kitts, San Juan and Grand Turk up an running, I am guessing the Vista will don't original route planned for Oct 7 . Maybe replace St martin with half moon Cay? I would be fine with that!

Hi,
Did you happen to see the changed itinerary to Vista Sept 23 cruise?
It's now going to Curacao, La Romana & Aruba- that's prob. the same itinerary we will have too on Oct. 7! Fingers crossed!

For those of you with Sept/Oct/Nov cruises that include affected ports, how is NCL notifying you of the changes? Phone, Email and/or change to your online vacation summary?
We have a late Nov cruise on the Epic with has St. Thomas and Tortola.
We are sailing in 3 weeks, Oct. 7th., on the Carnival Vista and have heard nothing so far. One of the ports we were supposed to go
to was St. Maarten. I imagine they will let us know something in a wk or so.

Good, interesting question and alternative to consider. From the New York Times Travel Section in the past couple of days, they have this headline: “After Irma: Caribbean Tourism, Island by Island” with these highlights for this area: “This two-island nation, which has been struggling since 2009 amid the recession, depends heavily on tourism. Antigua, the Caribbean Tourism Organization said, was spared the worst of Irma. Its V.C. Bird International Airport is open and most hotels (including Carlisle Bay, Cocos Hotel and Keyonna Beach Resort), restaurants and businesses were largely unscathed. Cleanup efforts are underway. Barbuda, Antigua’s little sister 28 miles to the north, on the other hand, is in ruins. Gaston Browne, the prime minister, has said that 95 percent of the island’s properties were damaged or destroyed. Cell towers snapped. Barbuda’s hotels were also damaged, yet as there were less than 100 rooms on the island, the overall effect on tourism is minimal, the Caribbean Tourism Organization said.”
Any other added information and background as to the current conditions and future timing affecting this scenic and charming area?

From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean adventure that started in Barbados, here is the link for that live/blog. Many visuals from this amazing river and Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.):

Hi, has anyone heard that ships are going to Antiqua instead of
St. Maarten? We are leaving in 3 wks on Vista (Oct 7) Don't mind an extra sea day but Just wondering if they are having an
alternative port.
Thank you so much!

Hi, I'm also cruising on Vista Oct.7. (In 3 wks!)
I was wondering if you have heard or read here, about an alternate
port for St. Maarten or maybe just an extra sea day. I haven't seen anything yet. Thank you so much!

That 'over the door' organiser that so many people say is a necessity was a total waste of space for me. Neither my husband nor I used it. I've never packed it again.
That's the one must have-hanging organizer. All the cosmetics,
Contacts/solution, hair brush, hair ties, etc. keeps the teeny
counter free.

I believe the edit button is only available for a certain period of time after posting. Not sure the actual exact length of time, but I don't feel like it's very long. Not sure you can delete it entirely, but you could edit it to just say deleted which I've seen before. I'm sure you could probably contact Administration to have them remove it, but I wouldn't worry about it and the case of a versus an. It happens to us all.
Ok, I will try to edit, thank you!

I know some people will never cruise on Carnival, but we have always had a wonderful experience.

Can you tell I'm new to this!? I need to delete my 1st comment. I wrote "a extra day" instead of "an" . I have no idea how to delete the entire comment, any tips?

We also will be on the Vista leaving Oct.7th. Don't really mind if we just have an extra sea day. One more day on board to enjoy a beautiful new ship [emoji2]

It's terrible what has happened there. I wonder where CCL will go instead of St Maarten?
